Every platform ruins itself the exact same way. People sign up for raw, unrestricted roleplay, push it way too far, and then the devs get scared and spam strict filters so they don't get banned or shut down.

Once a site starts making everything "safe" to look clean, you just push away the real users who built the hype. You can't turn corporate and expect to keep the freedom that made people join in the first place. Janitor is tossing out its OG base just to survive, and now the whole thing is just boring.

The AI janitor felt differently before, but recently, there have been strange shifts in the app's behavior, including strange glitches, weird memory refreshes, and sudden moderation changes.

Of the things that you wish the developers would fix/implement immediately on JanitorAI, what would that be?

In my case, I have a tough time choosing from having the developers fix the JLLM loops/cut-offs, and implementing a much-improved search filter for high-quality bots rather than click-bait ones.

What's your main issue or feature request

Hello everyone. I don't use reddit often but I've noticed something strange with the memory option for chats. A few hours ago it was working fine, I'd press the summarize as far as it could and it would spit out a paragraph of general information of the chat. But just a few minutes ago or about an hour, the memory started to spit out sentences like "CHARACTER DESCRIPTION" or "GENERAL LOCATION" and then continue to put bullet points that I didn't want. Is anyone else dealing with this? And if so how did you fix it? I've even gone to past chats and tried to summarize and it would delete what was there and replace with the the bullet points. I hope this is just a small fluke in the system that will be fixed, but I'm worried this is the new normal.

Every single one of my chats just had the memory disappear.. Has this happened to anyone else?

Not asking about a random 20-message RP.

I mean genuinely using one bot consistently like an AI girlfriend, talking every day, building a relationship/story together, remembering events, having normal conversations, etc.

Does Janitor AI work well for that?

Or does the memory eventually ruin it?

I’m curious because most Janitor AI discussions are about bots, proxies and models…

…but surprisingly few people talk about using it as an actual AI companion.

Anyone else getting real bored with every character using the same dialogue, no matter their personality?
E.g 'you're gonna be the death of me', 'you're playing with fire', 'you're playing a dangerous game', 'if you're serious about this', 'you think you can handle that?', 'that's a dangerous thing to admit to a guy like me, I'm not exactly known for my restraint', 'most people blah blah, but you blah blah', 'if we're doing this, if we're really doing this' etc etc etc.
It feels like I'm talking to the same character no matter who I talk to. There are bots that I used half a year ago that were really good and really felt unique, that now all have that same mushmouth with unoriginal dialogue. Doesn't matter if it's a loyal puppydog type character, or a cold detached type of character they all feel bland and samey.

I have a question, what is the "perk" about the premium version. If there are any special, do people that have noticed something better? I asked this because I was so close to clicking on it but I didn't because I didn't want to do an useless expense

man i miss when janitor had zero filters and free proxies actually worked fine. back then you could pick any bot and the ai would just go all in without pulling back or giving those annoying "I can't continue this" messages mid scene. now its constant soft refusals and proxy errors unless you jump through a million hoops. everything feels so watered down now

SURVEY STUDY OF USING PLATFORMS FOR CHAT WITH AI CHARACTERS

I'm trying to make a character that hates white people, but it wont let me. It's supposed to be a satirical character, a mother to three other characters in the bot who don't like white folk moving into her neighborhood. Like, we're allowed to have characters that can be sexually assaulted but we can't have a character who is comedically racist?

I have many creators on my account but half of them have been deleted recently. The interesting thing is that not all of them were creating any NSFW stuff so I don’t know which rule they were violating.

Janitor AI and Chub are my main websites due to the extensive character database and card export/import facility, but losing them is very annoying.

Anyone having similar issues? Should Janitor keep deleting creators, which other AI chatbot sites with extensive character database can I use?

Deepseek is going to rise their prices and i wanted to try out other models anyway. So, what are the best LLMs on openrouter? In terms of price+quality
