Looking for a weekend mandarin language learning program specifically in Taoyuan city

I can only seem to find university courses for degree students or weekly courses. I was wondering if anyone knew of a school or learning center in Taoyuan that could cater to a weekend learner who is busy througout the week? Please let me know.

What the hell happened to spotlight?

Spotlight search has been my primary method of opening apps for years now, since the latest update it literally can't find anything. Discord is one of my most frequently used apps, yet even though it shows up right there in the top row. When I type anything even remotely resembling the app name Spotlight draws a blank? It does this for like 90% of apps. Sometimes returning web searches or dictionary definitions instead of the apps requested. I've used MacOS since about 2012, I don't remember this ever being an issue.

Riddle me this choom. If evil, why hot?

For not the first time I'm in my life as a sensitive young man I have fallen for the charms of a domineering older woman.

Nikki vs Wish Nikki in the ending sequence

The ending sequence of this film scared the shit out of my the first time I watched it. Obviously Inde Navarette is incredible in this scene and furthermore the soundtrack and stakes within the movie all culminate in the most anxiety and terror inducing end of a movie I've ever seen. However something I missed the first time round was the flickering between rabid violent psychotic rage and the sickly sweet moaning and longing in Nikki's dialogue.

I had imagined the erratic bipolar nature of the dialogue was just all part of Wish Nikki's insanity. However on second watch, I think the real Nikki surfaces throughout this sequence and the only reason I didn't notice it at first is because unlike the helpless cries we'd seen from real Nikki in her previous outbursts in the film "It's not me!"/"Please kill me!". What we see here is a Nikki that's sick of Bear's shit. Instead of begging for Bear to save her or help her which she now knows is useless cause Bear's a pathetic entitled coward who has already chosen his own ego over Nikki's wellbeing once - "What's so bad about being with me". She threatens to scar him for life by killing herself right in front of him. It's brutal, it's bloody and it's a side to Nikki we haven't seen - and likely Bear has never seen either - and didn't know she had the capacity for before now in the movie. I'm still really just speculating, it's entirely possible the entire sequence is meant to just be Wish Nikki and the bipolar-ness just part of her lack of emotional regulation lmao. However the more I watch the scene over the more confident I am that this is in fact a brief glimpse of an angry vengeful real Nikki who through everything she's experienced now fully sees Bear for what he is.

Have any of you thought this before or do you have any alternate theories?

A year of playing near maxed out graphical settings on a 32 inch 4k monitor has taught me 1080p is actually fine.

I personally mostly play singleplayer story based games with the occasional indie title thrown in here and there. I built my PC about a year ago specifically to play Cyberpunk 2077 in 4k with mild to upper-end Ray Tracing on. I have a 7950x3d and a 9070xt. I sunk a lot of hours into Cyberpunk 2077, Control, Forza Horizon 4-6, Spiderman, Halo Infinite etc mostly at 4k60ish with varying levels of Ray Tracing activated. The experience has been excellent and everything I imagined it would be. Totally vindicated my decision to spend as much as I did on my PC. Then once Forza Horizon 6 dropped, I found running everything at near max graphics finally had my GPU chugging due to VRAM overloads. So I decided to start dropping the settings down. I didn't need to go all the way down to 1080p, however I found as I went down the settings honestly just based purely on eye-test, at the distance I sit from my monitor? 1080p was honestly fine. It won't drop your jaw, it won't impress your friends when they come over, it likely won't produce the best screengrabs. However in terms of gaming experience, I really didn't feel massively deprived.

Not a part of the main story line, and much smaller in scope than his later books but everything I love about Cixin Liu particularly the manner in which he develops his characters and deals with interpersonal relations particularly with regard to the roles they play within much larger over arching arcs/plot systems is at its best here. The first half of the book is romantic and poetic at times. The second half is when you feel the Cixin Liu you know from the mainline series shine through. 150% recommend to anyone who's into Cixin Liu and wants to expand beyond his flagship books. Will likely delve more into it once I fully flesh out my thoughts. Let me know how you found it if you've also read it!
