First plant - should I repot with better soil?

Hello! First time plant owner. I bought a ficus Benjamina a little over a month ago. It has currently lost 90% of its leaves. I do see new shoots propping up. I'm not sure what the issue is.

It was given to me with fast draining soil. So much that when I give it water, it immediately comes out the bottom but some does get absorbed.

I took it out to see what was going on and Claude AI told me that a plant my size should've developed better roots by now. It's suggesting I repot with a better soil mixture.

Earlier it also suggested Neem Oil in case of pests.

I know I'm using AI but I genuinely didn't know what else to do.

It's in an east facing window, I water it once in two weeks now (earlier I had accidentally watered it once a week but was told here that was too often).

I keep indoor temp at 70-72°F. I have a humidifier around it too.

Visiting this weekend - things to check out?

Hello! I'm coming up from Toronto via the GO train this weekend. I tried looking up what to do in Guelph this weekend and Google told me about the Church, the Art Gallery, and Farmers Markets.

My partner has a walking disability at the moment. He can walk fine with a cane but hikes or other physical activities are out.

Are there any live music acts, pubs, restaurants, parks you would recommend?

New Ficus Benjamina had bugs in the soil and is now dying - please help!

Last photo is of the bugs I found coming out. I got this plant from a home seller 3 weeks ago.

Watering schedule: soak soil in water once every 2 weeks. So I've only watered it twice so far.

Sunlight: Indoor plant, next to an east facing window with a humidifier. Inside temperature is always between 70°F - 75°F.

Fast draining soil, holes in the pot, so it hasn't stood in water.

The leaves turned orange first, then yellow, then immediately died off. Like 80% of the plant is now dead leaves. Two of the bugs I found were alive. The last one was dead and had mold on it??

I sprayed an insecticide a week ago but leaves are still dying.
