What made you choose your pet(s)?

How did you end up with your specific dog or cat? Or did they find you? What's their backstory? Why did you choose THAT one?

I put my dog down in April and am starting to feel like maybe looking again soon (I think I'll wait until closer to Fall). So it made me think of this question. I found my last dog on Petfinder at a foster home/rescue.

Do you have a name that people assume is a nickname, but it's not?

Like Liz who is not an Elizabeth? I had an uncle named Danny, not short for Daniel, just Danny.

How far from your birthday do you start to say, "I'm almost (age)", when someone asks your age?

This question is kind of hard to word. When someone asks your age, and it's getting close to your birthday (or not), when do you start to say, "I'm almost..." Like a few days before your birthday? A few months?

I've heard people say, "I'll be X later this year", but it's like 10 months until their birthday.

edited because I can't type.

I lost my dog recently, but this is just a curious question (maybe for a future dog!). When you have a dog that is already potty-trained to go outside, how do you then get them to go on a pee pad indoors, if/when there is, say, a blizzard outside - or some other reason why you can't take them outside, temporarily? I would imagine that would be confusing for them. Then afterwards, getting them to go BACK outside after the need for a pee pad is over?
