Anyone have any tips for how to start wearing my hair down without it being a sensory nightmare?

I’m 34F with very long hair. My hair is a big part of my identity (other redheads will get it) and cutting it is NOT an option. Ever since I was a child, I’ve hated wearing my hair down. It’s always been braided or in a ponytail or a bun. I hate the feeling of it on my neck, I hate when it gets in my face, I hate that it makes me hot… it’s just a sensory nightmare for me. My hair is very thin and fine, so that makes it even harder to control. I want to be able to wear my hair down! I want to try new hairstyles! Sometimes I can manage a half-up style if I’m wearing something like a fleece pullover that has a thick collar because then I can’t feel my hair on my neck. I feel like a cartoon character with the same hairstyle every day.

Anyone have a recommendation for a fiction book that feels like an episode of SVU?

I know this isn’t about the show, but hopefully it’s related enough to not be too off-topic for this sub!

I’m all caught up on the show and just finished the book I’ve been reading, so it’s a double-whammy! I’m looking for something that feels like I’m reading an episode of SVU if that makes sense. Anyone have any good recommendations? I’m not looking for true crime, just fiction.

Edit: WOW am I glad I asked! You guys are awesome. Thanks for all the recommendations!! 💕

Barth as a lawyer vs. judge

I’m in season 21 and I get that this show always wants to make the defense the unsympathetic bad guy, par for the course, but holy cow is Barth a grade-A beeyotch as a lawyer! As a judge, she was fair and compassionate, got shot and survived, helped put away Kofax, like she was cool. But then she became a defense lawyer and her personality flipped. It’s more than just being aggressive and good defense. She goes out of her way to be bitchy and insulting and smug for no reason. At Carisi’s first trial, she made a point to make a high school mean girl comment to him the day before it even started, then again during a recess. I hate that they just made her such an unlikable villain when she had been one of the good guys before then.

Name choices for victims/minor characters

This doesn’t really matter and probably isn’t something anyone else thinks about, but something that bothers me: The names that the writers give victims and other minor characters are so often age-inappropriate haha. I’m in season 20 currently, and you’re telling me that the majority of these girls in their twenties in the mid- to late-2010s are all named Carol, Susan, Anne, Sandy, Nancy, and other names of women typically in their fifties? And then early in the season, two young teenage girls were named Brittany and Laura, which are also names that are typically ones that would be more likely to see on women a decade or two older than them. They’re all perfectly fine names, but they just don’t make sense considering what names were popular when these girls would have been born. Maybe it’s because I love names and naming trends (hello ✨ autism special interest ✨) but it drives me bonkers haha. I was a few years out of college myself while this season was airing, and girls around my age are Jessicas and Ashleys and Emilys and Amandas. Please just tell me that somebody else thinks this is weird haha. It seems like the writers came up with a list of names back in the 90s when the show first started and just never updated it 😂

Edit: Realized I wrote the wrong year range in my rant haha

Liv’s relationship (season 17 - spoilers inside)

I just finished episode 17 of season 17 so no spoilers beyond that please!

Spoilers will be found below up to that point, so beware! Hoping this is enough text that it won’t show up in the preview for this post… I’ll spoiler tag the next paragraph just in case.

I had already accidentally spoiled the relationship with >!Tucker!< for myself when Googling another earlier relationship of hers (accidentally found a full timeline of her relationships 😅) so even a few seasons back, I knew it was coming and was looking out for how it would develop, trying to look for clues to see their relationship changing…

But… I legit don’t get it. I feel like the show barely made any effort to make the relationship make sense. He was SUCH an a-hole for over a decade, clearly had it out for SVU, just generally was the worst. Then he had a few scenes where he was vaguely nice because he needed SVU’s help, then he and Liv are suddenly hanging out, then there’s a big reveal that they’re sleeping together. It feels like it came out of nowhere and doesn’t make sense for her character at all to me. She had made it pretty clear that she didn’t like him (even said it to his face!), and there was zero development for how/why that changed in my opinion.

So basically… wtf?

Logged out and achievements and challenges are gone???

Hello! I emailed support about this already but wanted to see if anybody had any suggestions while I’m waiting to hear back. My account got logged out, and I’ve been able to restore my purchases (I’m a bitizen and one of the lucky ones grandfathered in to all expansions) but all my previous lives, achievements, and completed challenges are gone. I had over a hundred challenges completed so had unlocked superstar mode (or whatever it’s called, the gold theme), a ton of accessories, etc., and all of it is missing. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?
