Kernel panic after locking screen

After suspending the system with Meta+L and leaving the computer for a while, I encounter this screen. I'm forced to perform a hard reboot via the power button or use the REISUB to restart. Has anyone experienced this, or does anyone know a solution? Kernel 7.0.0-15-generic

Why is there such a massive battery life difference between open-source and closed-source drivers?

I'm on Kubuntu, and I just switched from nvidia-driver-595-open to nvidia-driver-580. I got around 60% more battery life, which is enormous. I didn't change anything else, and I'm only using my system for basic browser stuff (firefox and brave origin beta). What could be the reason for this?
