North Outpost STL
Has anyone tried this place? It’s looks like a great late-night spot at 1432 N. Broadway.

One of my favorite quotes, of many: We're all inadequate, weak and ordinary beings. But because we're capable of being kind, for a moment - no matter how fleeting - we can be extraordinary.
—a great Libby borrow.
I feel exactly as I did when I was a kid waiting for the fireworks under the Arch. Thank you, City of St. Louis for making it possible.
I’ve been alive long enough to have my Impressed button muted when it comes to political figures. But today, our mayor—a civil servant—was out front at the start of the Pride parade, walking in probably 3” heels, in the blazing hot sun, to represent freedom for all, and that was impressive. The gays appreciate; this one has tears in her eyes.
Great to see this out at Pride today! Thank you, City of St. Louis!
I was reading Laws of Love and Logic by Debra Curtis this morning. I came to a reference on page 31 of the students killed by the Ohio National Guard while protesting the Vietnam war in 1970, a few years before I was born. I wondered about the people who fired upon their fellow Americans…not so far afield from those who murdered Pretti & Good, and many others who were ended under different circumstances.
Do our lives matter in the long run…are we building the pages of history in this great country, this world, in brief but memorable moments, with the tiny ripple of our heart’s beat? Do we matter because we are interconnected? Because when I hurt you I hurt me and is coming to this conclusion one of our purposes for being?

Jupiter & Venus, brightest in their top left, btm right clusters. Best viewed outside, right about now.
Any STL gardeners have input on planting a new fig tree? I’ve killed 2 perfectly good fig trees already, and this is my last attempt. I’m going to plant it today. I’ve got plenty of shade/full-sun options. Thanks. (also, enjoy the waning gibbous)
I’m reading the first book. It employs a beautiful technique of threading one phrase at the start and then again on the last page. Then supporting itself as the world is built around it. I read the last line before I started the book - >!Harrowhark the First!<>! !<stood out as the book flopped over. Just came here to appreciate it today. It’s a really nice touch.
Backyard pics from last night’s storm aftermath. Thanks to City of STL for the automated calls, for prepping for potential disaster outcomes, and for having the NWS on hand during a critical time like yesterday. Big love!
Has anyone else read this masterpiece of insanity (or the whole series - your comments are appreciated)? It’s like sci fi with a touch of Killing Eve + a little horror / Harry Potter. My niece recommended it to me and now I want to get the whole set. It’s way out of my reading comfort zone but it’s like stumbling upon Ally North for the first time and feeling a special thrill.
