An arrangement of some of the music I did for my clarinet choir
Really happy with how well this music translated to clarinet.

I'm getting conflicting information online. What is the best way to get to the car park to hike to Hellfire Club from Dublin? If we get a taxi to, is it easy enough to request a taxi to pick us up too? Thank you!
Just got done with Hadestown and man, an already excellent musical that was elevated by treating it like they were really filming a movie and not just planting a camera at the back of the theater.
What are some other favorite proshots, either of musicals or of concerts? I’ve seen Sweeney Todd with Angela Lansbury and Stop Making Sense plenty of times and Hadestown has revived my interest.
I got this for making a donation for my niece around 2022/23 and totally forgot I had it! I can’t figure out any of them!
It seems like the new craft trend bubbling under the surface and about to hit big now is decoden. It's a Japanese craft (it's short for "decoration denwa [phone]) and basically involves using "whipped cream" glue to paste a bunch of plastic crap to a phone case. I'm not against maximalism to an extent, but of course everything you're supposed to glue on is a bunch of little plastic foods, charms, etc. And since it's a DIY you're encouraged to make several, and you're probably not making it great to begin with so inevitably the plastic junk will fall off and go to a landfill or just create trash around the street.
Either a band or artist who was supposed to be the next big thing and it just never panned out, or something so obscure a chart for it doesn’t exist (like your favorite Mongolian throat singer).
Mine is probably Ben Christophers. Did a lot of touring with the likes of Imogen Heap, Thom Yorke, etc. in the early 2010s and just never found an audience. He has a really unique voice and interesting sound.
Think The Jellicle Ball or Masquerade or even the actor/muso Company. What show do you think would work well/even better completely restaged from the ground up?
What’s your favorite neon sign in Baltimore? I’m trying to get better with photography and night shots/neon are something I’m super interested in practicing on.
I know the color scheme is still mandatory, but are they still expecting guests, especially men, to dress in business or formalwear? I will be in town for a day trip on July 5th and want to see it again but the idea of roasting in a suit sounds awful, whereas wearing all black and being able to change into short sleeves after sounds more tolerable.
Words truly cannot begin to describe how incredible this show is. If you’ve seen the movie you know 90% of the plot, a ballerina named Nina slowly dives deeper and deeper into madness in pursuit of her dancing, but this one also adds a bit of a traditional vs. contemporary twist and eliminates a subplot by changing her choreographer to a woman who was seen as a bit of a firebrand instead of a lecherous man.
Everything about this show is simply sublime. The dancing is a mix of ballet and contemporary (probably about a 20-80 split towards contemporary), and all of it is some of the most impressive I’ve seen on stage in years.
the music sounds like Radiohead and Charli XCX got together to do a bunch of Tchaikovsky arrangements, and the acting is intense and tragic. There’s quite a bit of stage magic and the show can get surprisingly gory at points (if you’ve seen the movie, you’ll be surprised just how much they kept in) and the lighting really pushes the limits of how a stage can be illuminated.
All the performs are also at their A game. My personal standout was Amber Iman who demands perfection but sees the consequences of impossible standards, and fights between wanting to be caring and wanting the best dance possible. If the show transfers, Melanie Moore will be an absolute shoo-in for best actress.
And best of all, Dave Malloy was there! He was actually in the audience taking notes and very graciously signed my program. He seemed super pleased with the audience reception.
I truly cannot gush enough about how great this show is, and it’s still in previews in its tryout, so I can only imagine what the finished product will look like on Broadway.
Not sure if it’s exclusive to NYC or if it’ll be at all of them
My community vgm group did a small ensembles concert last month and my arrangement of Waves of Morning Haze got performed. Song starts about 2 minutes in. I tuned it down to be a bit more friendly to players and I’m really happy how it turned out and how we did. Thank you for giving a listen and please leave a comment or a like
