She sleeps with us now!

Our five month old shelter mix is now sleeping with us at night. She curls up with us and snuggles the whole night. I had to tell someone because it makes me so happy! It’s one of the best feelings in the world 🐾

Affordable linen or cotton/linen mix

Hi! I’m looking for an affordable fingering weight linen or cotton/linen mix. I’m looking for a US company. I’m about to knit a tank top and I live in Houston, Texas, so it’s super hot! Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

What chews are you using for your heavy chewer?

Our 18 week puppy is a heavy chewer. Like really heavy. She is supervised for all chews. We just tried buffalo tendons. We’ve also tried yogurt chews. Nothing seems to hold up. Any suggestions for others? She is teething right now, too. And she doesn’t like the kongs you can stuff with kibble.

What treats for training outside?

We’re working on basic commands outside with our 17 week puppy. I use kibble for training. When we’re outside, naturally she’s very distracted. Should I use a higher value treat? I don’t want her to get used to it. She’s a smart little thing and stubborn! Sometimes she will refuse to do something if she wants better treats than kibble. How did you train with distractions?

Gracie is 16 weeks old! My how she’s changed!

Our little velociraptor is four months old. She’s doing well with her training but teething so things get a little tense. But overall she’s such a joy. Here’s a photo at 8 weeks versus now 🐾

Pitbull ears

I’ve noticed that pit bulls have a variety of ear shapes. Not the ones done on purpose (horrible), just natural shapes. Why is that? Are some of them because of what the mix is? What is a true ear shape? TIA

ETA Here’s a photo of my mixed puppy Gracie about to jump on my shoe. She’s 15 weeks today!

Any guesses for Gracie?

This is Gracie. She’ll be 14 weeks tomorrow! She has the head of one dog and the body of another. I know she’s young, but any guesses?

Does Gracie belong here?

Gracie is 12 weeks old. We got her from the shelter and they said she was a lab mix. Here in Houston that usually means a pibble mix. I hope mixes are okay here. Just want to show her off and find places for support.

Grace is 12 weeks! Too young to tell?

She’s young, so Im not sure you can tell, yet. The shelter said lab mix, which here in Houston means pitty mix. Any other suggestions?

Gracie at 12 weeks!

Here’s Gracie at twelve weeks. Her head is still bigger than the rest of her, but she’s still beautiful!

Grace the Goblin at 11 weeks! Today she learned “touch”. She is the sweetest little girl when she’s calm. She still needs a lot of sleep. She stays up for 20-30 minutes and she’s ready for another nap. Also, her head looks like a totally dog than her body!

Our new puppy is 10 weeks old. It seems like she gets overwhelmed after only 20 minutes of being out. Being a velociraptor is a thing. When she starts biting and becoming unmanageable she goes to her kennel. Is that really enough time for her to be awake? If she stayed up for an hour she’d be uncontrollable. The vet thinks she’s part German Shepherd, Beagle, probably some pitty in there somewhere. So she’s very smart, but definitely a chewer and biter. She’s really good at puzzles and is up for anything that results in a piece of kibble. She just turns in to Gracie the goblin. Is 20 minutes up really enough?
