Bulk 45s Purchase Help

We are making home gym, but we’re both powerlifters. So at minimum we will need 14 total 45 lbs plates, which also need to be the standard 17.7” diameter for deadlifting to make sure the bar is correct distance for ground. I am a huge Facebook marketplace fanatic, so trust me when I say I don’t want to venture away from it. However, I really don’t see how to get what we need without buying new. Most of what I see is plate sets with single pairs from 2.5 lbs to 45 lbs. So just not sure how we get the remaining 12 plates we would need lol.

I guess bottom line question: what are your tips or suggestions to get a large amount of 45s that are of mediocre powerlifting quality or where to buy new for affordable price?

Help finding replacement seal!

We live in a city that recently experienced a huge storm and the public sewer/stormwater system backed up and flooded a lot of homes (French drain backup pictured ☹️). Long story short, we are now in the process of whole basement floor getting ripped out and waterproofing and so on.

In an effort to do it everything right so we can avoid water intrusion, I thought a small and easy task would be replacing the garage door weather seal. I was wrong! Come to find out our garage door itself has a really weird shape at the end so the metal retainer on it is not just a flat piece of metal.

Think we may just have to wrestle the old rubber out and find a replacement that is only one groove? What type of seal do we buy??

A lot of the damage from the water has been covered by insurance, but there is a lot that also we are going to have to pay out-of-pocket so I really want the garage seal issued to be resolved DIY/affordable if possible. Any advice is welcomed ☺️

I should have taken a photo of the door itself without the seal on but I wasn’t thinking. Can update when home from work!

Contractor recommendations?

Unfortunately, we had water back up in our house from the sewer system on the 17th and as a result, had our basement professionally cleaned. However, we previously had reoccurring issues with a couple cracks in our foundation (vertical) that cause much less severe water intrusion, but some puddling.

Now that the basement is cleaned up and we are getting new flooring, we would like to either get the cracks injected with epoxy or maybe just go for a full basement waterproofing.

If you’ve had either of these done by a company that you thought was fair and reliable can you please drop their contact? Thanks in advance!

How to find bedbugs??

Bear with me because I am slightly freaked out with the idea we might have bedbugs that cannot be found, so any additional information or answers to my numerous questions will be appreciated!

Evidence: I have about a dozen red bumps that are itchy, and they began appearing this week only on my hips and the top of my backside. Started as maybe 4 or 5 and ended up with more, which I noticed this evening. My husband has not gotten a single mark. Edit to add: he also works nights so he does sleep during the day half the time; possible explanation? Are bedbugs nocturnal?

Timeline: We bought this house end of March, moved in a week later. So I think we’ve been in it to for 2 months and I’ve never noticed anything like this until this week. I first felt compelled to start looking into this on Thursday, May 28, because the bumps were bothering me and suspicious. So I’m assuming they probably started popping up at least the day before.

We had gone to our hometown the past weekend and stayed at my parents’ house on Saturday and Sunday night (May 23/24). The bed we slept in is the spare room, however, my mom does regularly sleep in that room. I’m assuming she hasn’t been getting bitten or she wouldn’t have put us there. (I did text her to ask, but I’m having a midnight freak out, so still awaiting response). I can’t figure out whether I’m just having a delayed reaction from bites I could’ve gotten from my parents?

Signs of bugs: I’ve searched the corners of our mattress, the legs of the bed, & the baseboard along the wall the bed is on. We have white sheets. I don’t see a single sign. No headboard on our bed. Area rug under our bed (could they be under it?)

I’m about to just put a paragraph of questions I’m thinking so if there’s any answers out there, I appreciate it. I am just paranoid.

Can they really be dormant for a period of time? And that you can just not see them for months until suddenly you do?

Is there like a nest? How far away from the bed would they be?

If they’ve been in our house since we bought it, does it make sense they would only start biting me now? If I’ve only had these marks for a total of four days (even though some are more recent than others ) should I give it more time before I react to see if this continues?

If I’m getting bitten multiple times a week, how bad of an infestation does it have to be? Is there just a bedbug marching across my mattress to come bite my hips when he’s hungry at night or what? Do they all come out like a herd?

Maybe two weeks ago (or less) my husband mentioned seeing a bug in the bathroom and it kind of looked like a tick but he concluded it wasn’t. He’d flushed it down the toilet before he came to report it, so we never actually looked into it and that was the end of the conversation. Now he’s wondering if what he saw was a bedbug, but it was in the middle of the day and our bathroom, so who knows?

In general, does this behavior sound like it is bedbugs?

It sounds like if we suspect bedbugs, we should worry about making our bed inaccessible so that they starve and wash/vacuum everything? Is there anything else we should do or should we just go straight to a professional?

My final comment is that I don’t think it was chiggers or fleas. We have a cat who has a white belly and I’ve looked him over extensively and he is flealess. Plus, there’s been no ankle bites and I haven’t really been frequenting the outdoors.
