Our household loves cashew chicken from Hong Kong Inn. We generally go to the location on East Sunshine or North Glenstone.

But tonight… we’re going to try Canton Inn. What we love about Hong Kong Inn is how they bread their chicken and that they use a lighter brown gravy.

Is Canton Inn’s gravy the lighter brown or darker brown style? The darker brown can look like thick soy sauce to me.

Hello! My husband and I are spending a couple of days at Margaritaville Lake Resort this weekend for our anniversary. Our plan is to relax by the pool and let someone else bring us food and drinks. 😄

Is there a restaurant in the area that's an absolute must-try? We're having our "fancy" anniversary dinner tonight in Springfield, but we'd be open to another nice dinner tomorrow if it's worth it.

We'd love recommendations for:
•A great upscale/fine dining restaurant
•A local hole-in-the-wall with amazing food

We're much more interested in great food than atmosphere.

About 15–20 years ago, Springfield had the "I Love America" celebration hosted by James River. The live choir and orchestra synchronized with the fireworks made it one of the best Fourth of July events I've ever been to.

Is the fireworks show at Route 66 Stadium anywhere close to being that good, or is it a completely different experience?

I'm voting YES on Amendment 1 and NO on Amendments 2, 4, and 5.

I'll also be voting NO on Amendment 3 in November. Missouri voters already decided this issue in 2024, and I believe women should be able to make their own reproductive healthcare decisions.

I generally engage with left-leaning content, but my feeds have suddenly been full of Fox News, Newsmax, Charlie Kirk, Trump-related posts, etc. I'm curious if anyone else has noticed a similar shift or if it's just my algorithm acting weird.

Does anyone own a lawn service company or use one that mows with a grass catcher/bagger?

Our lawn was aerated and overseeded last fall, and with all the rain we've had, it's growing like crazy. The company we currently use does a decent job, but some weeks the clippings are so thick it looks like you could bale hay.

Any recommendations for lawn services that bag or catch clippings?

The exhaust fan in our guest bathroom has quit working. Who should I call to replace it—electrician, HVAC, handyman, or someone else?

Any bicycle gurus in the group?

I live in Phelps Grove, just a stone’s throw from Missouri State University, and I work there as well. I’ve walked to work and driven (usually parking in the lot along Grand), but I’m thinking about getting a bike for the commute.

It’s only about a 3–4 minute ride and mostly flat. What type of bike would you recommend?
