Hi,
we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Westminster’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Famille vs. Kachina Southwestern Grill), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

Here’s the iPhone version, with categories that actually fit Westminster’s food scene:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota-restaurant-ratings/id6744969212

And here’s the Android version (finally live):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app

P.S. I’m not from Westminster (I live in Gothenburg). I’m not collecting data, not selling anything, and the app does not use AI-generated content. I’m posting in a few different subreddits because we now support more regions, and I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually know the area.

I run a pub trivia company in the Denver area. I’m looking for fun, high-energy people to host trivia nights!

Details:

  • Pay is $50 per game (~1.5 hours of hosting)
  • Free food & beer at most venues
  • Meet New People– you’ll host at the same location each week, so you can build relationships with your regulars
  • We provide all equipment – you just show up and run the show

If you like entertaining crowds, and this sounds like a fun side gig to you, click the link below!

Best places to seek therapy/psychiatry?

Im in need of getting some mental help and have no clue where to go. I know about Burrell but ive gone there and seen the reviews so im hoping there's something better around here. It needs to take my insurance so if you know of any good places that take it, that would help me out a lot. If you know of a good place but are unaware of whether it takes my insurance, please recommend it anyways and I will check!

1895 Mattress Factory

AI dates this photograph as dating from 1885-1905. Based on the street address it was taken in Springfield, Missouri. Can anyone provide additional details?

Made my day.

To the random gentleman in a car to the right of me at a light who prompted me to roll down my window. And then asked “Hey, are you married?” And I answered “No” and then you said “Take down my number.”

That was actually really cool and surprising and fun and made my day. I’m sorry that after that I said “I’m sorry it’s a green light.” And drove away.

It’s not for the reason you might have thought, I’m a guy.

Brown Derby Wine Center

Does anyone know if and when the Brown Derby Wine Center will be returning to their original location on Glenstone? Construction on the remodel hasn’t started and they won’t answer any questions about it on their social media. If they’re not moving back, I don’t know why they won’t admit this new location is permanent.

Where to buy Rit dye-more?

I'm specifically looking for the kind for synthetic fabrics, or any other brand as long as it's a dye formulated to with polyester blends.

I have no idea where to get this sort of thing since Joanns closed, and I don't really have the time to order it online.

If Springfield had a movie like “National Treasure”, where would the clues be located?

Driving around, I think of buildings or monuments that would definitely house secrets. (My dad’s favorite movie series is National Treasure, and it’s a bit of a family joke).

Or maybe there already is a real life “Springfield Treasure” hidden somewhere here? What would it be?

Lost Dogs near Hillcrest

Two very friendly dogs found over near Hillcrest High School. I can't keep them for more than a day or two before they'll have to go to a shelter.

Any leads would be appreciated!

Looking for a parking spot near Vue on Walnut 🚗

Hi! I live at Vue on Walnut and I'm looking for a monthly parking spot nearby. Vue currently doesn't have any available spots.

I'm hoping to find something within walking distance of Vue, as I use my car frequently.

If anyone has an extra parking spot, garage, or driveway they're willing to rent out, please DM me. I'd really appreciate it!

Pumpkin Daze Festival

has anyone been to this festival in recent years? I am planning to participate as a vendor here for the first time, but can't really find any videos of it or how much traction it pulls.

Springfield Mo National Treasure Riddle- I'll give it a day for answers to come in then reveal

Someone on another thread asked "what would Springfield's National Treasure type clues be?

That made me think it'd be fun to write a little riddle.

NOTE! There is no treasure, do not go trespassing. Just a fun little game. Although it would be neat to do something like this and actually hide a treasure. But not this time.

Anyway, here is the riddle, take your guess. I'll come back to tomorrow with the solve.

-------

When Madison goes to the Market, A tree sits to the south and the west.

An apartment named for this tree, holds the view that is best.

Of the river that runs to the north, flowing off and down to the east.

Where it crosses itself in a sense, you finally are close at least.

On the ridge overlooking the view, on the land where children once played,

The treasure lies hidden below, deep in wild cat's cave.

Where am I?

anyone know the artist?

I lost my favorite bookmark. Since it was drawn by a 16yo kid name James for the Design-A-Bookmark Contest in 2016, I'm never getting it back.😔 I got this low quality photo of it from the Wayback machine.

James, if youre reading this I'm ur biggest fan. This was THE bookmark. I hope you kept drawing.

Hickory Hills membership

Thinking of getting a social membership next summer solely for the pool…we live very close by, but don’t have any pool in our neighborhood, and the public pools aren’t great.

What can I expect/what is the vibe like? Anyone willing to share a rough estimate of the cost and is it worth it? And if you know of any other secret pool on the east side, I’m all ears.
