Landlords who will accept a low credit score?

Hi y’all, I’m trying to find an apartment by the end of July and need to find a place that will accept a lower credit score (in the 550-580 range, no collections or evictions, just student loans and credit card debt). Ideally I’d like to find a studio or 1 bedroom. Has anyone recently been approved with a similar score or have any recommendations for places to look into? Thanks for the help!

I need your help identifying what I saw

I know this is going to sound fake and like a made up story but this happened to me yesterday with my girlfriend we went to sequoita park after dark because that were we usually take our night time walks the first thing I noticed that was off was that it was only around 10 when we got their and it was completely empty no cars which I found strange because even at 12 at night there at least a couple cars in the lot. So I park and get out of my car and I hear the sound of all the frogs croaking at night so me and my girlfriend start on our walk, walking on the trail leading to the bridge next to the big rock our plan was to hop over the gate and go for a woods walk but when we get to the bridge we realize we didn’t want to go into the woods because it was pitch black and looked creepy we were going to continue with the path walking by the lake but when we continued walking everything around us went dead no frogs no birds not even the fucking crickets it was completely silent. Me thinking it would be funny turned to my gf and said “yk what they say when it goes silent there’s a predator out” she turned to me and asked do you think we’re being hunted? We get back on the trail and walked into the forest trail near the playground as soon as we step foot in those wood I felt like everything and everyone was watching me we walk on the trail for a little bit until I started hearing this snapping sound like twigs but these were deep snapping sounds like something was stepping on a big log or thick stick and it was just breaking under their weight I thought maybe at first it could be a deer but these thing is.. Deer don’t follow you they leave you alone we kept hearing in everywhere in the woods so we get to part of the trail where it meets with a train track and by the way we were feeling in those woods we started walking on the train tracks about half way down the tracks I look up and I see in the bushes something on all four get on it’s heind legs and speed walked behind a pole it looked like a dog and maybe a deer but it was kinda hunchback I didn’t get a good look at it before it disappeared and at the same time as I saw the my gf asked if that was a person at this point that cracking sound stopped when we were on the train tracks and as soon as she said is that a person we heard that deep snapping sound start agian and we heard a mix of a scream and a bark I think? It’s unclear and to add more details I think this might have been the nixa hellhound bc of the descriptions and it says your more likely to see it after a severe thunderstorm which we had earlier that day. I’m trying to do research on it bc I want to know what I saw and if anyone else has experienced this please let me know and share your stories so I can learn what I encountered

Alamo has moths

Went to a movie in theater 3 today. Moth infestation. They were flying around, getting in front of the projector and getting in our hair. They were coming out from under seats. These are pantry moths. If they come home with you expect an infestation.

Loud bang - explosion?

Anyone know what caused a loud bang just west of downtown about two hours ago? I was with a group of people at Mothers’, it sounded like it was north and a bit west of there.

Why so many homeless?

I’m from St. Louis & also lived in Kansas City but neither of those seem to have the amount of homeless I see in Springfield. Why does it seem worse here?

Me and Girlfriend looking to buy homes Northern Springfield, looking for advice

Hey guys! I’ve lived in republic my whole life and visited Springfield multiple times a week every week for the past 20 years. I would love to stay in republic and buy a home here but the prices are just too high. For example a 120,000$ home in Springfield, when compared to a similar home in republic, would be 200,000$+.

So I was coming here for some advice. Really the only homes in our budget are in Northern Springfield, north of Commercial or in that area. I was curious what you guys, hopefully people who live in Springfield, would have to say to a young couple moving here possibly. I’ve never had any problems in Springfield when coming for Entertainment or Shopping but I know living is different. And I’ve heard (mainly old white people) many people saying Springfield is dangerous and an awful place to live.

Any advice, insight or just personal experiences would be appreciated.

Attached dog pic for fun

Is Springfield Centerfold still known as the best steak or one of the best steaks in Springfield?

Ok so it's been about a decade but they were known for having the absolute best steak in town at the best prices. Quality cuts of meat, excellent sides, great portions, great prices, and on an actual grill. Many people would go out of their way to have dinner here - during hours when they don't have any form of other entertainment. Is this still the case? If you've never heard of this I realize it sounds far out but it truly was the case. What do you all say?

Any manual transmission teachers?

Hello,

I live in the Springfield/Republic area and I'm a bit of a gearhead and want to buy a manual car. I've reached out to all of the local driving instructors and unfortunately nobody in the area teaches manual. I want to offer to pay anybody to teach me how to drive their stick shift car! Dm me if you're interested 🙏 or if you know of anybody/any company that does teach nearby, please let me know.

I don't know if this is off topic or not I'm just desperate atp 😂

Homeless Female

Does anyone know of any women's shelters outside or close to Springfield, MO that are accepting people? I know someone that maxed out there time at the only shelters in Springfield and is sleeping outside. Female in her 40s and only smokes weed and nothing else.

Where could we get drinks after dinner that isn't too far away? I don't know if much besides Lindbergs. Appreciate any recs!

RV / car trades

I was curious if anyone knew a place that would trade two cars and a 5th wheel for two reliable cars(a car and a truck)…. Kelly blue booked we have about $80,000 in value. Our dilemma is ONE we want this camper gone we bought it to live in a year ago and now don’t need it but now we owe about $20,000 more than it’s worth…… (it blue books for about $50,000). We also have a 2017 ford F150 with over 100,000 miles and a 2022 Honda civic with over 100,000 miles. Both have been very reliable good cars and maintenanced on regular schedules we just want lower miles and a bigger car since our family is expanding as well as NO MORE CAMPER. So does anyone know where we could trade what we have maybe for a $30,000 truck and a $30,000 mom car? Either way we are out money but rather put money towards something we have and can use rather then get rid of camper and be still paying…

For the love of God quit driving 100+ ft with 2 tires in the turn lane, commit to the turn and get out of the way

Like 1/2 the drivers in town spend several hundred feet straddling the turn lane before yanking over at the last second. It's a full lane! It will hold your whole car! Move out of the way!
