Princess Diana in Angola 🇦🇴

In January 1997, Princess Diana walked through an active minefield in Huambo, Angola, wearing protective body armour and a face visor.

At the time, Angola was still recovering from decades of civil war, with millions of landmines left buried across the country, many hidden near roads, villages, and farmland.

The visit was organised alongside the HALO Trust, a humanitarian organisation working to clear landmines and prevent civilian deaths.

Images of Diana walking through the minefield were broadcast around the world and helped bring global attention to the devastating long term impact of landmines across Africa and beyond.

TBT When Michael Jackson visited Tanzania, he longed to go to Ngorongoro but failed.

In February 1992 he visited Tanzania, landed at Dar es Salaam airport on his own plane, wearing a long-sleeved green shirt, black pants and a black hat, and was promoted to Benz that took him to Kilimanjaro Hotel (then) which later became Kilimanjaro Hotel Kempinsk , which is now the Hyatt Regency Kilimanjaro in Dar es Salaam. .

On his two-day visit to the country, he met President Ali Hassan Mwinyi. The next day he visited a special school for orphans and cerebral palsy in Sinza..

His flight of about 60 people failed to get to Ngorongoro's destination and he was unable to board a small plane, so he ended up in Dar es Salaam.
