judge my pretentious short film where nothing happens, but it looks like a A24 movie

I recently shot a short film over the weekend after a frustrating experience on a bigger shoot earlier in the week. I needed to make something for myself — something small, simple, and personal. There's no real plot, just mood, texture, and visual moments. More vibes than narrative, honestly.

I shot it on the Blackmagic Pocket 6K Pro with vintage Nikkor AI-S lenses. Not the ideal combo for low light, and I definitely ran into some tough spots there. Had to push the footage about 2 stops in some scenes, but adding a bit of grain and embracing the texture helped it hold together.

Despite the limitations, I’m really happy with how it turned out — feels more honest than the “bigger” stuff I’ve done. Would love any thoughts or feedback (and please comment on youtube!)

if you’re brave enough to watch 4:20 minutes of aesthetic nothingness:

btw sorry for the clickbait title

pyxis 6k in late 2026, buy or wait for the pyxis pro or G2?

I currently own a Pocket 6K Pro and I'm thinking about buying a Pyxis 6K.

The only real upgrade for me would be the box form factor for set workflows (i don't care about full frame) also I have a trip coming up where I can get it pretty cheap cause in country is imposible to get it on a normal price.

I’m hesitant because the sensor tech feels a bit dated, and even though there are no rumors yet, I feel like a Pyxis G2 or Pro (with built-in NDs) has to come out eventually. Is it worth buying it now?

PS: please blackmagic sponsor me

out of the box & sleak pyxis v mount adapter

Hey everyone

I’m looking for a low-profile V-mount battery plate that attaches directly to the camera body or cage

My issue with the Tilta direct-to-cage plates is that they make the rig unnecessarily long, sticking out too far in the back and throwing off the balance.

there is a few solutions online but

I'm looking for:

  • An out-of-the-box, ready-to-go retail option (no DIY mods or hacking things together).
  • Direct cage mounting (I want to avoid adding a baseplate and 15mm rods just for power).
  • Something sleek that keeps the battery snug and tight against the camera body.

Has anyone found a brand or specific plate that solves this footprint issue?

Honestly, I simply don’t understand how none of the major, recognized brands (SmallRig, Tilta, Kondor Blue) offer an out-of-the-box, simple solution to such a problem.

Blackmagic 6K Pro USB C issues

I have the camera for several years, always using the UBC c to a Samsung T5 SSD as storage

Lately I have been experimenting issues with it. I can’t use it without the camera losing connection with it, I tried different cables and SSD.

I send it to repair, not official, and the guy told me that the USB C port it’s fine so maybe it’s something else, anyone have the same issue? Any recommendations to fix it?
