Pig vs A5

Back in the day I tried Pig for the Zone slot because people compared them as the same "slot" ....and disliked it. It was just not stable enough.

Years later I tried a5 with the understanding that it was straight and loved it as compliment to A2.

Still have a pig in glow bag. Tried it recently and I actually love it now. It's like A5 but with no glide in my eyes. Maybe a little slower.

Anyone else compared these two. Curious of your thoughts. Considering throwing the Pig again. I've always loved how they feel. Just couldn't forehand them before because I was treating them as more stable than they were.

A little too big or a little tight on the toes?

I think the length of my feed are an odd size or something. If I get shoes that fit where my big toe is, I always seen to run into the sides/front with my other toes no matter what brand I try.

I am unsure if sizing up is good too.. hard choice. Going my usual size fits like a glove but crams my last 3 toes a bit, next size up doesn't cram my toes but leaves a decent chunk of room in front of all of them ..

Which is better of the two evils in your opinion?

Best Saguaros for thin/flexible?

Which models are the most thin and flexible?

Love the price point of saguaros and I like my barefoot shoes to be as thin and flexible as possible for when I have to wear shoes but... Don't wanna. Lol. Buddy has the Fast I which seems pretty thin and flexible but didn't know if they had even better models for that that are still in the $50 or less camp.

Putting putter that feels most like an A2...

Weird question I know .... But I noticed a lot of times after I approach I just toss it in with my 300 A2 .... And I feel more comfortable with that profile for putting hard than I do with my own putting putter ....

Not gonna putt with A2 but I wonder if there is a putting putter with similar profile lol

Realfoot ground feel/flexibility

How are these with regards to being able to feel the ground and have foot shape to the ground? I want the thinnest and most flexible I can get while still wearing a shoe ...

Their toe box looked promising but was unsure how well they would hold your foot to prevent side to side movement, and how thin/flexible they would be .

They said 4mm ... But I've worn some shoes where 4mm let me have sensitive touch to the ground, and then I've had hard 4mm soles that somehow didn't let me feel the ground despite being thin.

Shoes like Wildlings but with wider toe box?

I love Wildlings. I love how thin and flexible they are. How superior their ground feel is to anything else I've tried. How their sole rubber is tough but not hard (like xero tend to be).... How they fit like a sock at the heel and mid foot..

I just love em.

All I want is them but with a wider toe box. But when I find wider shoes they tend to miss some of the flexibility or ground feel of the Wildlings ...

Bonus if it is a shoe that could work for athletics. I felt confident I could play disc golf in my Wildlings but not confident I wouldn't destroy them because they were clearly not made for that.

What MVP mid combo do you run?

Right now I have detour/hex/reactor/balance going but it kinda feels like a lot sometimes haha.

I think detour and balance are a locked in thing for me. What mids do you run?

And if you were me, would you go down to just 3 of these or keep em all in (not getting rid of any but may decide which to throw when near water lol)?

If so, hex or reactor for that middle slot and why?

Barefoot shoes where the big toe side DOESN'T go inward?

I've noticed most shoes I looked at still flare inward on the big toe side which seems to defeat the purpose...

Anyone find barefoot shoes where the shoe contours to a point on the big toe side instead of jutting inward toward the end of the big toe?

Baseline/beat-in A5 vs PA5

I love the A5 and have been considering cycling them in 300 alongside premium.

I also love the PA5 and am curious if I'll need this mold if I cycle A5s...

Any A5 throwers use them as their understable throwing "putter" type slot? Or is it too fast to do anything close to Pa-5 things?

Disc that flies like proto M1

These are hard to get but I'm curious if anyone who loves the protos has gone to another mold that is easily accessible.

Function: Forge vs Neo Lumen

Any observations about these plastics for the function? Anyone prefer one over the other?

How is grip and stability of the two plastics? Firmness?

"Ranger" alox?

Has Victorinox ever released an Alox with the scissors, woodsaw, and file?

I love my Ranger so I think a grail knife for me would be an Alox with:

The opening layer,

awl,

big blade (really small blade would be my preferred but I doubt they would release one without the big blade),

scissors,

saw,

and the big file.

Have they ever released anything anywhere close to that other than Farmer X (missing the file)?

Why did Xero get rid of the Forza Trainer?!

Any idea why?

Any shoes that have similar feel and vibe to them?

I don't love alot of Xero models personally but this is the one shoe I've tried from them for athletic purposes that ended up being an actual favorite. Sad to see it go.

Too many molds?

Here is my current bag. I keep liking molds and slowly adding them and now I'm unsure if I've done too far lol.

Main question is in your opinion is there overlap with the A2/A5/Pyro slots or the Rollo/Function slots? Or in general bag building probs with what I've done?

I plan to just get some stable emperors once I lose these destroyers so that will collapse one mold lol. I don't honestly throw my driver mold unless I have a lot of open area or need the extra stability for headwind. I'm usually throwing Roman as fastest disc but I do like having those.

For reference I throw 350-375 backhand and about 325 forehand unless I do some kind of crazy flex haha

Birdie Ultra vs Balance vs Pyro stability and handfeel

What are your thoughts?

I bag a Pyro currently, and though it does push more than a new A2 i am not finding enough difference between it and my beaten in A2 to feel worth it. Want something pushier to differentiate it more so the choice between discs feels easier.

Curious which of these is pushiest. I want something with reliable BUT pushing fade. I carry reactors and want something just a tick above those but the Pyro new is a little more than I was wanting I think since the A2 is a locked in disc for me and I have beaten in ones that push a bit.

Discs that live up to the hype for you

What discs have you found that, in your hands, really lived up to the hype?

I have had some that for me just didn't -- the Zone. I admit it's a great disc and I've seen others do great things with it. It just doesn't do it for me.

The A2, Reactor, and Detour, FD and Roman 5 discs that just felt different in a fantastic way when I threw them and were instant bag-it discs.

A2 does what I always wanted a Zone to do and has a fantastic, unique feel to it. It's still slow, but is just way more overstable and is a dream as a person who likes base plastic approaches because it starts SO overstable and takes forever to even get close to a Zone stability.

Reactor was the first mid I threw that really surprised me what it did. It's incredibly straight, but there is something that also feels very "solid" about its flight. When I put it on a line I feel like I can really trusted to hold and maybe fade out a little, but mostly just a very reliable stable flight.

Detour also surprised me. Flippy but extremely workable and predictable. Not crazy Flippy. Deeper heiser and it'll flip to flat and hold. Small heiser and it will flip up then drift right. Flat and it'll drift right harder. Anheiser and you can roll it or throw it high for a very far turning shot.

FD is slower and easy to throw but just goes so far for a slower disc and it flips up easy without flipping over on you. At least at 350-375 max distance power.

Roman was what I always wanted thunderbird to be. Straight with reliable dump to it but it feels a little faster/farther flying than Thunderbird for me and for me it seems less stable mid flight but more overstable end of flight. Thunderbirds for me want to start drifting sooner but not finish as hard. I can get a Roman to hold a rope until it decides it's time to crash which I love.

Pushier "pyro"

Is there a mid that is pretty overstable that can be flexed and stuff but is a little pushier than a Pyro? I think Pyro goes with my A2 but I do cycle 300 A2s and kinda wish there was great distance between my 300 A2 that's beat and the Pyro.

Favorite "bomber" 11-12 speed

Currently I use a somewhat beat in Wraith for this slot but would love recommendations for a somewhat flippy disc in the 11-12 speed category for max distance. Currently hit 350-380 with that Wraith.

I throw destroyers when I NEED to know I will have finish, but idk that I'd say I throw far enough for them to be my workhorse distance driver when I'm trying to throw as far as I can lol
