us vs european masters degrees

hello everyone!

it’s my dream to become a librarian! i recently graduated with a english degree and am looking into masters programs. it’s also my dream to live in europe (i’ve lived in austria and poland and adored it, but the country is less important to me at this point)

i’m curious what’s the best way to go about getting a masters degree? should i get an american degree or would a european masters program be better? if i get an american degree, would i even be qualified to work in europe? i don’t want to waste my time getting an american degree and then having to get a whole new degree and certifications in europe if i could just start there.

if anyone has any experience with this i would appreciate your advice! thank you 😊

new diagnosis

hello everyone, i’ve been recently diagnosed with ptsd and i don’t know how to handle it. i knew i had trauma and that probably wasn’t helping my depression and anxiety, but i didn’t realize how much of my behavior and thinking is directly related to my trauma and ptsd. it feels so overwhelming and like it’ll never change.

i’m in therapy but i feel horrible the majority of the time. i go between being terrified and depressed pretty much all the time. my trauma has ruined my view of humanity, and i feel like goodness is almost nonexistent. i feel like i’m in constant danger and it makes me want to scream. i can’t even keep a job or friends. i’m lucking to have a wonderful partner but i worry i’ll be too much for her every day.

how did you all deal with this? how do you wake up every day and live with this fucking disorder? i’m so exhausted and overwhelmed. i can’t see anything getting better. how do i change my view on the world and life with ptsd?

closing the distance issues [23f/22f]

hello everyone! me and my girlfriend (23f and 22f) have been dating for a while (3+ years, we’ve known each other for much longer) and we live across the ocean from each other. i was thinking of studying in her country next year, i even found a program i’m interested in. we both think it’s a good idea to live together for a while, our relationship has been long distance for the most part and we want to see what we’re like when we live together before we make any huge decisions like permanent relocation or marriage.

theres just a few problems. firstly, money!! i have a lot of debt and i’m not sure i can study in her country and work there and still have enough for bills, to live, and to pay off my debt. both of our families are very helpful with this though, and i think we can figure it out together. (hopefully) it just stresses me out and sometimes i think if i don’t solve it then she won’t want to be with me anymore.

the second problem is my rabbit. he is three years old and for those who don’t know, rabbits live about a decade. i want to live with my partner and study over in her country, but there are no options for my rabbit to come with me (unless i can find someone with a private jet or come up with 10k+ in the next few months for special pet relocation services). regular airlines keep banning rabbits in cabin and there’s too many horror stories of rabbits not making it out of cargo, i can’t be that cruel to him.

i don’t know what to do. i’m not willing to leave him behind and especially not rehome him. i’m very bonded with him and it would break my heart. but there also just isn’t a realistic way he can come with me across the ocean. it would also break my heart to leave my partner. i see a future with her and i want that if i can have it. my partner isn’t willing to relocate here (she has different internships and is studying there and is in all honestly apprehensive because of the current government). i also think she’d like to close the distance as soon as possible, though she’s never told me she’d leave if we can’t close it soon.

i don’t know what to do.
