Best bank in the Philippines for receiving USD remittances from the US?

Hi everyone,

I'll be receiving regular USD payments from the US, and I'm looking to open a dollar account specifically for remittances.

For those who have experience with this, which bank would you recommend? I'm mainly considering factors like:

  • Low fees
  • Smooth incoming international transfers
  • Good exchange rates (if I decide to convert to PHP)
  • Ease of opening a USD account
  • Reliable online banking

I've heard people mention BDO, BPI, Metrobank, Security Bank, and UnionBank, but I'm not sure which one is the best in practice.

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences and any pros or cons. Thanks!

I regret my degree and I don't know how to move on. Has anyone been in the same situation?

Problem/Goal: I regret my degree and I don't know how to move on. Has anyone been in the same situation?

Context:

I graduated with a Psychology degree last year, and I've been working in HR ever since. Honestly, I'm already feeling burned out. HR is much more draining than I expected, and I don't see myself doing this for the rest of my career.

The reason I chose Psychology was because I originally wanted to become a lawyer, so I thought it would be a good pre-law course. But by the time I graduated, I was so exhausted that I completely lost the motivation to continue studying.

The truth is, my dream job was never law. I always wanted to become a pilot. Unfortunately, flying school is just too expensive for my family, so I had to let that dream go.

Lately, I've been feeling jealous of my friends who graduated in Computer Science. Most of them landed good first jobs with salaries that are much higher than mine. I keep wondering if I chose the wrong path.

The frustrating part is that I actually considered taking Computer Science back then. I was just too scared because everyone said it involved a lot of math, and math has never been my strongest subject. Looking back, I regret not even giving it a chance. Maybe I would have struggled, or maybe I would have done just fine.., I guess I'll never know.

Now I'm 23, and I feel like I already made a mistake that will affect the rest of my career. I know people say it's never too late to switch careers, but when I see people my age already earning well and building experience in tech, I feel like I'm behind.

Has anyone else regretted their degree or switched careers after graduating? How did you stop comparing yourself to your friends? And if anyone moved from Psychology or HR into tech, was it worth it?

I know I can't change the past, but I'm struggling to let go of the "what ifs," and I'd really appreciate hearing from people who've been through something similar.

How can i cope pls help

It's going to be my first time investing in stocks. Last week, I was literally watching the market when prices dipped, yet I was too scared to invest even ₱5,000 a month, despite wanting to build the habit of investing regularly.

Now I'm regretting not taking action. The worst part is that I still can't gather the courage to invest today because I feel like I already missed my chance. Since the market has gone up, I keep thinking I should have bought during the dip, and that thought is stopping me from starting now.

How do I cope with the regret of missing an opportunity and move forward instead of staying stuck?

Hello everyone, I’m currently looking for templates or practice materials that can help me simulate payroll and compensation processing.

I’m really interested in developing my skills in this area, but it’s been difficult to break into the niche since there aren’t many learning opportunities since i learn thru by doing it itseld

So far, my only exposure has been observing a coworker handle payroll and compenben.

From what I remember, the process involves:

Computing employee salaries and deductions

Accessing government websites to retrieve contribution amounts

Using Excel tools or converters for payroll calculations

Processing payments, possibly through bank platforms like BancNet

However, I feel like I’m missing some key steps, particularly before the actual payment process. I recall there being a step involving generating or verifying contribution data on the respective government portals before proceeding with payments.

If anyone has templates, sample files, or can walk me through a structured payroll workflow, I’d really appreciate the guidance.
