Atlantic firearms has the TDI IDF slings for $29 if anyone was looking for them.
Earplug pocket and all.

Earplug pocket and all.
Who else is sweating in a sportscoat today?
Totally slipping my mind, its a mauser.
Splintertarn, at work, at the whitehouse....bold.
For $356, probably my best mauser snag to date. Im not sure what Turkey did with these rifles, other than smear varnish on the stock, but its all matching with a great bore. 1923 czech acceptance stamps, with a 1923 czech acceptance bayonet that's been similarly turked. Cool surprise was many of the small parts like the bands, firing pin, and follower are imperial german proofed, and the stock appears to have a disc with imperial german unit markings on it.
See above, I did 6 years active duty, on one contract. Because of bad information from the education office at my last duty station and crossed wires with the VA, I was strongly encouraged to do a MGIB buy up and use it at a community College then switch to the post 9/11 when transferring to my large state school, because I had 6 years active duty and two enlistments it "was" a possibility. Problem is the guard enlistment doesnt count unless I do 90 days on title 10 orders, if I had done two 3 year contracts I'd have been kosher, or any other variation of those 6 years in more than one contract, who writes these rules. 🤣
Anyways, it's been a bit of a blessing because I ended up using VR&E to finish my undergrad and am hoping to use the post 9/11 for a top MBA. I've been in the guard for quite some time now, but it's mostly been on the backburner since my unit is a few hours away and I've been busy with school. They've been super awesome and great people, and I've enjoyed my time helping out, but I don't think the opportunity will materialize for any smaller time commitment than a full deployment. I've done it before but its a hard pill to swallow with a wife who makes the real money, two kids, and trying to continue the success I've had getting in to a highly competitive industry that I'm going in to.
I've heard conflicting information on if tech schools in the guard or AIT counts as title 10 time, I believe since I have well over 24 months of active duty time they would, but I've made the mistake of hubris once. Can I reclass and go to an AIT for that MOS and have that count?
Anyone have any other great/creative ways to get it done?
I don't want to hang up my sword fwiw, but it's getting really hard to justify to my spouse unless I can squeeze something like re-obtaining my gi bill benefits from it.
I was given an xt225 about 20 years ago, life happens, I moved away, joined the army, etc. Its been in a barn on a stand sitting most of that time with a few hundred miles on it.
What do I need to get it running again?
Missed one of these the other day that got bid up to $500ish, my most successful tactic on gunbroker has been to target auctions that end after most boomers bed times, especially on off days (tues-thurs), bid right at 15min remaining, and cross my fingers.
Trying to bring old bits back together, pretty happy with the rifle, seems all correct to me except a mismatched Romanian contract bolt, but considering how hard of a life these lived in WW2....many being carried in to Russia by the Germans, many being captured, and then redistributed by the russians to the Romanians or whomever....im pretty okay with it. Finding a clean one and finding one with the Lion crest intact seems to be threading two needles. Sling may be upside-down, try to not give me a hard time if it is 🤣
