Some pictures from the Throwback Market at House Three Thirty. I scored an awesome Akron shirt from 7th Floor Clothing and learned about the Killer Video Retro Horror Museum that I’m definitely going to check out.
House Three Thirty is located in the old Tangier restaurant that I used to frequent. It’s a really cool setup and a must visit!
Some pictures from the Pilgrim Square Summer Solstice. It’s a neat area with lots of great vendors.
The Bomb Shelter is Akron, Ohio has some nice G.I. Joe figures for sale. They are very reasonably priced.
Came across these little guys in a Micro Toy Box. I believe that these are 1:180 scale - miniatures of miniatures. One of them is a Redline.
Redline - Steam Roller - 7 Star version
Redline - Blue Enamel Ford J-Car. Spectraflame blue painted over white enamel. Rumored to have been a promotional giveaway for the 1969 Indianapolis 500.
Redline - Volkswagen with stripe tampo
Custom Camaro - US - White Interior
Classic ‘36 Ford Coupe Redline
Enjoyed the Primavara! Spring Romanian Festival at the Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church in Fairlawn.
The food was very good. we enjoyed a Primavara! Platter which includes a Sarma (cabbage roll), a Mamaliga (cornmeal dish), and a Mititel (spiced meat roll).
The live band did an eerie version of Misirlou, which is the iconic song used in Pulp Fiction (Dick Dale’s version)
My favorite part of the experience was the Turkish coffee. It’s finely ground and as we were drinking it my girlfriend noticed that there was quite a bit of sludge on the bottom of her cup.
She was fussing around with the sludge when a woman with a thick Romanian accent approached us. We asked her if the sludge on the bottom was typical and she told us about Ghicitori which is fortune telling using coffee, tea, etc…
We were instructed to drink until the grounds and a small amount of liquid was left, then swirl the cup and flip it upside down on the saucer as you ask yourself a meaningful question. You then wait for 5 minutes and interpret what you see in the cup.
The church is beautiful inside and everyone was very welcoming. I’m planning on going back next year.
My personal favorite - the Custom Cougar. Sweet Sixteen - 1968 - US
Great show at Musica last night.
I purchased this lot of what I believe to be 1970s G.I. Joe figures and accessories although they might also be Big Jim figures. Does anyone know what they are? Is there a good website that I can check to identify?
Thanks in advance!!
