Any know if Van Halen ever performed Heavy Metal live? If so, any recordings of it? I would have loved to see EVH have fun with it.

July 9, 2011, Yusuf released a single, “My People” for charity. Prior to that, he invited people to sing the chorus and send the recording to his website digitally. He would then mix all of them into the chorus of the song, singing with him. I sang that chorus and sent it in. Of course I can hear my voice in the song he released! 😅😂🤣🤣. But seriously, that multivoice chorus is crowd-sourced. I’m wondering how many people sent him recordings. Were any of you singing with us?

I’m thinking of adding an intake hose to my (supposedly) 8000btu Easy Home portable ac unit. Currently it can sometimes get the 20’x20’x8’ room down to 65°F. I’m wondering if adding an intake hose would make it more efficient. I can get the parts for about $50 and make the intake plenum. People who have done this conversion, did it change the operation of the unit? Did not exhausting room air help with cooling? Is it worth it? I know that exhaust air is coming from inside the house and has to be infiltrating somewhere, but I don’t know how much that matters. Appreciate any experiences and advice.

I really want to see the Big Boy roll past me. I tried to see it in Oak Lawn IL a few weeks ago but I was a few seconds late and only heard it. It’s coming near me again in Lemont, IL after it leaves South Holland on 7/17 at 0900. I’d really like to be able to know or predict what time it will pass Lemont. Is there any way to do this? I have seen the schedule and map on up.com but that map is not accurate enough when tracking. Anyone know of another resource or a better way?

In my umpteenth rewatch of the whole series and all movies. The episode that makes me laugh the most often is S07E05 -100 Clues. Just a few reasons…

TIL that when you look at the day number in the streak row in achievements, if you haven’t extended your streak for today, the 🔥 to the left of the number will be dark. After you do an action to extend your streak, the 🔥 lights up. If it’s already lit, you’re good for today.

I have a Tivo Roamio Pro that I upgraded to 3tb right after I got it, but that was 10 years ago. The TiVo is stalling and sluggish on many operations so I want to back up the old drive and restore it to a new 3tb—while keeping all the recordings, OPs etc. I have a WD Purple on the way. I think I used mfstools before and I have a machine I can boot to linux with plenty of sata ports. Is this still the way to go? Is there a ‘latest’ version of that or is there a better way now?

In the recent past, when I did whatever the first thing was that I did on reddit, I’d get a small reassuring banner in the upper right showing what number day I was on in my streak. That meant my streak was alive and that day was counted. I haven’t seen one in a while and I have to go check the badge to make sure. I’m at like 682 and all these stories of people losing their streaks are making me nervous.
