Using guitar pedals with a bass?

Hi sorry if this isn’t allowed. I am a guitar player turned bass player. I’m just looking to optimize my bass pedals situation.

My signal runs from my Ibanez SDGR into a JHS Pulp n Peel V4 - Micro Qtron - Behringer Brassmaster fuzz - Keeley Monterey fuzz - Danelectro Billionaire CEO Tremolo - Boss chromatic tuner - Ampeg bass amp

If I am using the micro qtron, keeley fuzz, danelectro trem with a bass is it going to destroy them? I had these as a guitar player but I’ve been using them as bass pedals in my current band. Would switching these out for bass pedals impact the sound in a really noticeable way?

I’ve never had issues with the tremolo. However my band tried to record a song with us all using a considerable amount of gain/grit/fuzz and I had to fully max the Monterey fuzz to give it the extra boost it needed from the already activated Behringer Brassmaster fuzz other wise if it was lower than the absolute max the signal was just way too noticeably weaker/quieter.

I only ever use the Monterey after I have the Behringer Brassmaster fuzz on. Because the Brassmaster has a Bass Volume setting and allows you blend in however much you want of your natural bass signal, allowing you to kind forge your low end within the fuzz. I kind of use the brass master as a boost or for just something while my guitarist is taking a solo to add to the intensity. Kind of like the end of Know Your Enemy by RATM with how Tim Commerford utilizes the Marshall Jackhammer

However I will say the Monterey is extremely loud when played live. I like it because it really hits that Sabotage tone by the Beastie Boys and also the Around The World tone from the Chili Peppers pretty well, just absolutely gnarly. It’s also super cool with the vibe/rotary/touch wah effect option but they seem like they are dialed in for guitars as they never work quite right for my bass sound.

The micro Q tron is often a little too ‘poppy’ Or like snappy when I’m hitting my bass strings, so I don’t use it as much as I like.

Never had issues with the jhs, brassmaster, tuner, or the tremolo so I’m really just looking for other pedals/ advice on what to do with these other ones.

Also as a side note I’m looking for a pedal that may help achieving this bass tone. I think it may be a chorus of some type? It’s called Sleep Talk by Crumb: https://open.spotify.com/track/09qIqYnxDqRRQAMumUm6Ny?si=0kEZw2dQSc-X2KJpVJHuHg

Thank you all so much 😄

Searching for new hiking shoes!

Hi I’m in the market for some new hiking shoes, as I believe these are nearing their end with this season. And also I just would like a more accommodating pair for scaling mountains

I believe they are called a Columbia men’s Fairbanks Mid Boot. I really do like them. however I did a 13er (Square Top Mtn) and there were some very gravely/scree spots that I nearly slipped on where I felt if I had different shoes it would’ve gone differently.

I’m essentially looking for something like this but with a better grip/sole. Waterproof-ability is something else I’m looking for, as I do creek crossing every now and then. It doesn’t need to be air tight, as these Columbia boots get wet if they’re really submerged, but they generally stay dry very well. I really need a good ankle support too, so I think staying with the mid size boot is more the move for me. Where as if I get a full size boot, my feet get really hot in boots. Im not opposed to trail runners if they’re the thing I need, then so be it. It’s just the market for outdoors gear is huge and saturated with cheap stuff. Tysm for the help and insight

Won a daily permit for the wave, looking for help regarding pickup location

I accidentally selected my pickup/issuing location as Kanab. I am substantially closer to page though. Can I pickup my permit for the wave at page even though I accidentally selected Kanab? I won daily permit for 5/21 so I’d be picking up tomorrow at 8:30am

Coyote buttes south parking advice?

Hi I’m about to embark on a trip to Arizona. I have a permit to hike coyote buttes south but am too afraid to utilize the sandy road system they have out there to access the actual Pawhole or Cottonwood cove trailhead. Ive never driven in sand and will be utilizing a jeep gladiator Mojave edition for this trip.

I know there is the lone tree lot, which is where im planning on parking, but how far away is that from the pawhole trailhead. And also is it possible to hike from Pawhole to cottonwood cove?

I’ve looked into the blm roads and if I was to actually attempt it, it seems like 1017-1066-1081-1082 would be the move but I can’t find any videos or info on this route besides that it may be slightly easier than directly driving east from Pawhole to cottonwood cove.

Thanks for the help, just very anxious about getting there 🙂

Howdy friends and nature lovers! Hoping some fine folks out there could help with a few loose ends in my upcoming 9-day dispersed tent camping trip to Arizona.

I feel like this is going to be less of a problem than I actually anticipate, but I just want to be safe than sorry y’know? I’m driving from Denver, CO down to NM, and then finally to AZ. My brief itinerary is as follows:

Day one: drive south, camp approximately at Gallup, NM.

Day two: blue mesa trail, Petrified forest NP, then drive to Marble Canyon Dispersed camping.

Day three: explore coyote buttes south/white pocket and then camp at white pocket dispersed camping.

Day four: white pocket/buckskin gulch, then drive to Alstrom Point for camp that night

Day five: drive south to Grand Canyon and hike to Ooh Ah point via SK trail, catch sunset, hotel for night to shower.

Day six: Humphreys peak, from there Apache trail scenic drive to Apache junction/phoenix adjacent camp site.

Day seven: explore West Saguaro NP, maybe check out tombstone, drive to our next campsite in Bisbee.

Day eight: drive back north to CO, probably stop somewhere approximately adjacent to Socorro, NM give or take how much we want to drive.

Day nine: drive home return car.

So I’ve only been to AZ once as a child. Im so excited to go cause it feels like the first time. I just want to be prepared. I’ve done plenty of camping prior to this in Colorado, so it’s not my first rodeo, however it is a completely different environment.

We are somewhat concerned about the wildlife considering we’re tent camping. I’ve read about scorpions, tarantulas, Gila monsters, javelina. How much should I actually worry about this?

Secondly, for our one campsite in Bisbee, I chose it because it’s downright beautiful, but it is also within ~10-15 miles of the border. This is gonna sound stupid, but here goes, how likely is it that there will be an interaction with potential cartel members? I feel like stupid for asking. Once again I’ve never camped here, and just need to make sure I’ve checked all my bases cause I’m particularly anal about planning trips.

Any other tips for tent camping in the desert would be appreciated. And yes for the record, I’m aware I do need the permit for coyote buttes south, I have obtained one for the day I’m going to be in the area. I’m also aware that the paths to get to some of these places requires a high clearance 4WD vehicle. I’ve made accommodations for this and am fully ready for what I’m getting myself into. However having never actually tent camped there I just wanted some insight as to what to realistically expect with these worries. Thank you so much, and I appreciate all the help and information 😄
