Been away for a while but I'm subscribed to him on YouTube and I saw the title of one of his streams is "helping prep for egc". Is he not competing anymore?

After TVshowfaves I was able to move my data over to TVtime in the nick of time, but this time I was between phones and on holiday when it happened so my data is completely unrecoverable. I just lost 15 years of data, I'm annoyed. TVshowfaves was the first app I looked for and subscribed to when I first got a galaxy note 1 more than 15 years ago. That's 15 years of data gone.

I know I won't own my data with Notion, but at least I know it won't shut down tomorrow.

I came from the pixel 9a and I'm surprised at how much worse the camera is. I've honestly never paid too much attention to these things but the way it handles light/dark contrast is really bad. Even taking a photo of someone, the part of their face the light isn't hitting is very dark and unflattering.

Is this a lens thing or could there be some software/settings tweaks that could make it better?

Edit: I'm on a razr 60 ultra (2025)

No Android 16, no security updates since then. I've invested a fair bit of setup time so I'd rather not use the software fix tool because it wipes your phone

r/AOE4 rules "Do not be overly negative, hostile, belligerent, or offensive in any way." I feel like when we're talking about devs the bar should be slightly stricter. I might be wrong, and I might be the only one who thinks so, but these are the people who actually care about the game and do their best with the tools and resources that they have. I met some of them at red bull (not even relic guys, but World's edge guys who work on server side things) and they're massive fans who love the franchise and want to see it succeed, just like us.

There's a big line between criticism/frustration and just constantly shitting on devs.

Thoughts?

Edit: in case it wasn't clear I'm not suggesting we ban criticism or frustration however harsh or direct it is, but insults and hostility directed at "devs" whether it's as juvenile as "stupid or lazy " or worse, I think shouldn't be allowed.

I saw this poll (below) where AOE4 is put up against Warcraft 3 and some comments say how significant Warcraft 3 is to the genre. It obviously is I'm not disputing that but it made me think about the contribution AOE4 has made.

I think AOE4 pushes the genre forward in massive and simple way that's discussed often in this sub but I feel it doesn't get enough credit for beyond. It has a mix of quantity and variety of assymetric civs in that I don't think has ever been done in any way that comes close in any other RTS.

Hell, even shooters have been recycling the same 6 classes for decades but this game has been churning out civ after civ that plays differently.

If you've spent less than half the resources it takes you to age up in all previous ages on upgrades and non essential units and buildings.

So a fast castle is if you age up having spent 900 resources at most on things other than vills from 1 tc, houses and resource buildings.

Fast imperial is if you've spent more than 1800.

Some will say that we should just have a time cutoff and be done with it but I like mine cause it focuses more on intent and is applicable to all skill levels
