Complaints

I’m pretty new to hosting but have always used the platform as a guest.

Is it normal for guests to be so bothersome/picky? I clean the hell out of the place even after my cleaners and still get some complaints. Some are about the dumbest, negligible things.

I’ve never stayed at a perfect air bnb but generally give 5 stars because at the end of the day the house wasn’t built yesterday and there will be some blemishes.

Is this new? Is this a me thing? I genuinely don’t know what I can do better at this point. Probably just going to rent out the place instead.

Evicting a tenant - destroyed the suite

Evicting a tenant and wondering what to expect. The suite is completely destroyed - sink broken, carpet ripped out, holes in walls he's self patched, stove removed.

I have images showing the extent of the damage. I'm getting an estimate and the damage likely exceeds $20,000.00. My mistake I guess for not doing regular check ins (probably hadn't in 5 years) but I didn't think there was anything wrong.

He's gonna claim that he tried to get everything fixed and told me but he didn't. The first complaint I got was a week after I told him I'd be inspecting the suite - the upstairs tenants had moved out and complained about him, so I figured I should check. After I let him know then he submitted a complaint that the toilet was busted. So I went and looked and saw the condition of the suite. Took several images, and submitted an eviction notice. He disputed and my hearing is soon.

Anyone know what I should expect?

Your wife and kids or 1,000 people

Who would you save?

I personally feel there’s a right answer here. What I would do if actually in that situation? Idk.

But you gotta save the 1000?

Guest claims they saw a mouse in the house and wants to be compensated

Title

They want 250 USD. I haven’t found a mouse or droppings. Wasn’t sent a pic or proof.

I’m guessing they’ll leave a negative review.

I’m planning on declining the request. Is that the right thing to do? Sounds ridiculous to me?

What do you guys do for your Canucks/overall sports watching?

I've always had cable (I'm old but like..not that old), and the 100$/month bill feels excessive. I literally only need it for Sports - so Sportsnet and TSN.

Aside from being Jack Sparrow, what do you guys recommend I do?

Would a Sportsnet+ and TSN+ subscription cover all my bases? Does that give me every Canucks game? I also watch every other sport so NBA games that come on the other channels, MLB games etc.

If I'm understanding their tiers right, and I pay for the year upfront, Sportsnet would be 30$/month, TSN would be 23$/month. Total of 53$ monthly.

Are the streams as reliable?

Stolen vehicle, what’s next?

Turo knows, police knows, and yes my personal insurance knows I rent out my vehicle on Turo and is insured correctly.

Turo has told me not to inform my insurer yet but I feel like I probably should? It’s been 2 weeks. I do t think they’ll be finding the vehicle at this point.

Airport Delivery - hosts

Do you guys still do airport delivery? Do you charge or for free?

I’ve been doing free but now they do a minimum charge to deliver to the airport. Even though it’s free parking, I still get charged 15$

Absolutely insane. I’ve now started charging 50$ but I know I’m not gonna get any bookings because of it.

Do you guys still deliver? Do you charge?

I’m absolutely done with this garbage platform.

Airport Parking Fee

Any idea how to avoid these? I get automatically charged even though I drop off the car and the customer never has to pay.
