DAE have bug OCD?

I've always been afraid of bugs but it never like consumed my life. Now I think about it all the time (what else can I do to prevent it, etc) and its funny bc they say not to indulge in compulsion but washing my car and spraying with peppermint water has actually WORKED. when the compulsion works I'm happy lol and the ocd goes away in that area... anyone else?

does it really help to not talk about it?

the constant talking about it and seeking reassurance is probably not helpful right? I've been trying to work on acceptance instead

sometimes i can't really tell what's wrong

how do i explain this... I've always had a phobia of most bugs, but I've never had the obsession/rumination/compulsion... however, I'm totally different when I am not alone. When I stay with my family/boyfriends, I don't think about it much and the fear isn't there really. And when I have to deal with it alone, this fear of living alone forever hits me, like it's a symbol or something.

What I'm trying to say is I *know* that when the day comes that I won't live alone anymore, this ocd will totally disappear...

i want to hear about luvox

please share your experiences!! (my ocd is centered around bugs - worrying ill see one, how to avoid them, how to not be alone, never ending thought loops/intrustive thoughts - although I've had other obsessions before with other fears)

I want to ask my doctor about luvox... please tell me how it has helped you

just looking for some thoughts/discussion

I'll try to keep this short. I think I've always had ocd one way or another (mostly obsessive thoughts)

I've always been afraid of bugs which is fine but now it's taken over my life so much where I go out of my way to live "a bug free" existence. (I think it has a lot to do with being/living alone - not that afraid when I'm with someone)

I'm always looking for reassurance that the bugs I find are normal for summer and grateful they are mostly dead. I'm wondering how I can improve on the obsessive thoughts? Always waiting for the next encounter, it's exhausting

strangling

always haunted by my ex... would you guys consider strangulation attempted murder? I've always minimized everything because he would twist things and pretend they were sexual but it was out of the blue entirely, literally while watching tv...
