NW Indiana

Not sure why this isn't coming up more on other prepping subs but there are parts of NW Indiana without power for days after several tornadoes hit the area.

Which Toyota 4x4 should I get?

Which Toyota 4x4 should I get?

Hello everyone!

I'm looking to replace my 2016 Chevy Sonic LT with 180k miles. I own it and want to sell it for around $2k - $3k.

I'm hoping to use this money to total about $8k in total budget to buy a Toyota 4x4 off of FB marketplace place. I'm hoping for something under 300k miles. Even better if it's under 200k miles but I think that's unlikely.

I would use the car to mostly commute to work (about 12 miles round-trip), store some tools/emergency gear, grocery runs, and a biannual camping trip that doesn't really require 4x4 (the 4x4 is mostly to have for an emergency). A bed would be nice as sometimes I pickup used furniture of off FB marketplace but I admit it's not necessary.

I have looked at the following models:

\-Sequoia (favorite for now bc of the cargo space and V8 engine)

\-Tacoma (harder to find in my price range)

\-4Runner

\-Land Cruiser (not sure if I've seen these on FB marketplace)

\-Tundra

I appreciate any feedback or direction.

A/C stopped blowing cold air

Hello everyone. I'm hoping to get some advice on how to get my ac to blow cold air again on my 2016 sonic.

I checked the relay and fuse and they seem ok as I switched them out and still have the issue. Like I said, the air blows from the cabin vents but it's coming out warm.

I did notice that the clutch fails to stay engaged. It will engage and then a few seconds later disengage. Could this be a faulty clutch?

Also I did check the refrigerant levels with one of this ac pro bottles with the gauges. It seemed to indicate I had enough.

I have seen some people say that if the ambient sensor is broken it can cause the ac to blow hot air. I don't think this is the issue as mine has been broken for a long time and has not caused an issue before.

I Hate This Car - Rant

I got the infamous P2076 code on my sonic and it's driving me up a wall. If you don't know what that is it's the intake manifold tuning valve runner arm popping out of place and causing the check engine light to turn on. Its a small POS plastic that is incredibly hard to get to and will cause you to fail your smog test.

I tried getting a replacement part and popping it into place but it's so difficult to get any leverage since you have to go under the car and burn your arm on the catalytic converter while maneuvering with only one hand. I tried grease, filing down the new piece, and warming it up but now the piece won't stay in.

So I tried super glue and it of course it didn't work. I'm gonna try the dorman piece and removing the battery to go through the top this time to hopefully get better leverage. After spending my day off squirming under the car in 90+ degree weather and burning my hands I can say I hate this pos junk car. GM should go bankrupt and the American people should not bail them out for their shitty products.
