Never made hot sauce before, any tips for a beginner?

But i have probably close to 50 jalapeños ripe off the plant right now, and by the end of the season i’ll have double the volume in cayennes. I really would love to make some hot sauce to gift out to friends and family with it.

I’ve thought about making a jalapeño hot sauce with a few of the cayennes that matured earlier than the rest with it. Would that be a bad idea for some reason? I love a garlic heavy hot sauce, would it be bad to do more garlic than a recipe calls for?

I know there’s a science behind it all, and i don’t know how confident i am with fermenting.

Any tips or tricks to share with someone just starting out? Good same day recipes? Good videos you like?
We make pickles every year from our garden cucumbers and gift out, so i’m not sure why i’m so paranoid about the sauce. Anything is appreciated!

looking for suggestions on what to get a friend

Hello! A good friend has recently done a lot of nice things for me after a passing in the family, and I would really like to do something nice for them back.

They quite like mini painting, and i would like to make them a little gift basket including things they may be able to use. Perhaps something that has to be replaced often? Or a really nice set of brushes? Some nice paint?

I don’t know anything really about mini painting, other than how to admire it. I’ve been following this sub for a while because i just love seeing what people make. I just want to get them something useful and nice that will make them smile but I have no idea what’s actually good.
Sorry if this isn’t the right place for this!!

looking for a book to help with grieving a sibling, and the anger that comes with family who took everything.

Oldest sibling passed recently, and before he was even in the ground it was like a race back to the house to take what you wanted. One sibling rushed to get there first, while the rest were still taking comfort in each other at the after service. They took everything they could get their hands on, and basically immediately left the state.
I can’t let go of the grief, anger, disgust, and betrayal that I feel at them and my parents for facilitating it, even though I know they’re hurting and just as lost too.
I worry I never will.
Has anyone ever dealt with anything similar and found a book/movie/podcast that’s helped you through it?
