Neighbour became very aggressive as soon as he realised I was not Maltese.

So I parked a small car in a very tight space. I have to admit that I "touched" what seemed to be a business/shop garage.

Even thought I knew that I would leave around 4:30 AM, I still left my phone number, in case "the shop" needs to open before that time.

I knew that i was slightly out of the white (public) parking, but I still accepted that I may be required to move the car if needed.

Unlike other drivers who leave half car outside their box, with no contact number and no other way of making their car go away (Lesa doesn't care in most cases), I still left my phone number.

So, as I was already dressed up, and ready to leave my home, I receive the not so unexpected call to move the car. The owner called me in a very calm tone, and I understood the Maltese words *jekk jogħġbok ... karozza ... garaxx* etc; and I said, **jiddispjaċini five minutes**

The owner calmed said, mela mela ok (he didn't sound angry/stressed at all)

I was there in **two** minutes, not five as I initially said. As soon as he saw me, and heard "good morning, I'm sorry" from my side, he immediately exploded in anger and started yelling in the middle of the street at +4:30AM how bad I am and this is forbidden and you can't fucking put your car in front of my garage and you fucking move your shit and blablabla more stuff that you can imagine — basically a completely different person than before he saw me / heard me speaking in English.

Yes, I know my car occupied part of his entrance, but I left my number, and immediately moved it in literally 2 minutes — and it was all ok until he found out I was a foreigner.

I didn't want to engage with the insults, being it so early in the morning, and that guy was old AF, and I didn't want him to end up with a heart attack in front of me. But whatever, wtf.

EDIT: To add up, around 15 mins passed between I moved the car and I left, and his car was still off and inside. So this was definitely not "an urgency"

Qué miedo vivir en el barrio con esa vieja chismosa.

Y sí, que la demande por lambona. Por calumnia, injuria, y todo lo que venga después

Tow Zones notices must be placed well in advance

It's not fair that somebody just decides so show up with a tow zone for the very next day. What about someone who left the car for the weekend? Or somebody whose car broke down and is waiting for a spare part?

Shouldn't those tow zone be noticed like a week (or more) in advance?

What about people who rightfully park on a white space and go abroad for a few days?

If Labour likes foreigners so much, why doesn't Abela naturalise all foreigners after 6 years (as by law)?

There was some kind of chant playing very loudly in the morning. is this normal?

It was around 6:40 AM and someone was playing something on high volume. Is something going on today?

Google Maps now shows the region borders

So... why San Ġwann and Mtarfa are exclaves of the "Northern Region"?

Great. More discrimination to TCNs. Just what this country needed.

So, up until this point, anybody (Maltese/EU/Legal Resident) could have a 3-year probationary driver's licence, and then, a 10-year old one.

But Malta has proved that TCNs could be (once again) targeted, and now all Non-EU residents, are limited to have their driver's licence valid until their current ID card expiry date.

This will create (more) hassle, as now you have to coordinate the dates of your driver's licence with your ID card expiry, more waiting time, and of course, more money to pay on every renewal.

As well, this implies that you can no longer use your driver's licence on another EU state, after your Maltese residence permit has expired. Certainly against EU laws.
