2026 RAV4 PHEV keeps spamming warning beeps when locking

Hey everyone, looking for some insight into a frustrating issue with my 2026 RAV4 PHEV SE.
Whenever I try to lock the car from the remote (or use the "Lock & Close" trunk button), it triggers a sequence of multiple warning beeps before the doors finally lock

What I've already checked & ruled out:

  • Second key fob: Confirmed the second key is kept far away inside the house, not hidden anywhere in the cabin or trunk.
  • Vehicle power: Car is completely turned off (Power OFF) with the gear set to Park (P).
  • Doors/Hatch status: All doors, hood, and tailgate are fully shut.
  • Rear Seat Reminder: Disabled this setting entirely in the MID and multimedia unit.

Despite all this, the beeps persist.
Has anyone experienced this specific sensor loop? Is this a faulty door latch sensor/DCM telematics glitch, or is there a hidden setting I overlooked before I take it to the dealer?

Thanks!

Any way to add wireless charger to the trim without it?

I am looking for a charging mat to fill inside the zone where the XSE and higher trims (6gen) have the wireless charger. Is there any on the aftermarket?

Car loan from dealership

Dumb question: if I get a car loan from RBC but not directly from the bank but from the car dealership, will I see this car loan under my regular account near chequing/saving accounts automatically?

Considering a 2026 RAV4 PHEV SE in Canada

Hey everyone!
I’m currently in the process of pulling the trigger on a 2026 RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid here in Canada. I was originally looking at the XSE, but honestly, I’m having a really hard time justifying the massive price jump (11k incl EVAP). The main feature I actually cared about was memory seats, but from what I understand, Toyota’s memory system only saves the driver’s seat position—it doesn’t adjust the side mirrors or the steering wheel position anyway.

Since the SE seems to offer 90% of what I actually need, I had a few questions for Canadian owners before I finalize everything with the dealer:

  1. Does the Canadian SE trim come with physical direct TPMS sensors in the wheels, or is it an indirect system? Will the car alert me to a specific low tire, or just throw a general warning light?
  2. Standard Included Accessories**:** For those who took delivery recently, what actually came with the car? Did it include the all-weather floor mats, and the trunk/cargo tray standard?
  3. What should I pay close attention to during pickup at the dealership? Are there any common factory defects or delivery problems I should watch out?
  4. What kind of pure EV range are you getting during Canadian winters (around -10°C to -15°C) with the heat/defroster running?
  5. What tires come installed on the 18" SE wheels from the factory? Are they standard All-Seasons, or All-Weather (with the 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake rating)? I usually run All-Weather tires year-round and want to see if I'll need to swap them immediately.

Thanks in advance guys!

RWD Model Y in Moncton NB: Are All-Weathers (like CC2s) a death wish or actually fine?

Hey everyone,

Living in Moncton, New Brunswick, and trying to decide on winter tires for a RWD Model Y.
I love the idea of running a premium All-Weather tire like the Michelin CrossClimate 2 year-round to skip the biannual swap and storage hassle.
But since it's a heavy, high-torque RWD, I’m paranoid. For those who drive a RWD Tesla in actual eastern Canadian winters: is the performance gap between a top All-Weather and a dedicated winter tire (like X-Ice or Hakkas) just a minor 5% difference, or is a true winter tire radically safer when things get icy?

Would love to hear from anyone driving a RWD EV in NB/NS.

A few weeks ago when the Tesla financing rate was showing 5,09%, I applied through the Tesla app and got approved by RBC at an effective rate of 4.79%. I figured they knocked it down a bit because I have a solid credit history and I’ve been an RBC client for years.

Now that the advertised rate has dropped to 4.91%, I went back in and re-applied. RBC just came back approving me at the full 4.91% with no reduction this time. It feels inconsistent and doesn’t really make sense.

A couple questions:
• Has this happened to anyone else? Did RBC give you the discounted rate the first time but not on a re-application?
• Can I just cancel this and apply again through the Tesla app to try and get a better rate?
• Will applying multiple times hurt my credit or delay my delivery?
I’m really confused about what the best next step is. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
