Today’s Delivery

I posted earlier about being able to get $750 loyalty credit from SOA. Well, today was delivery and I’m super excited to have a new car again. I traded in my 2019 Silver Subaru Outback Premium for a 2026 Silver Subaru Outback Premium w/ Optional Package 13. They look great next to each other and it totally makes a logical progression in my eyes.

For those that are interested, here’s the deal as I had it.

Location: Philadelphia metro area.
MSRP +$39k.
Trade Allowance: $10k ($800 over Carfax value)
Dealer Discount: $4250 (dealer sold for $2 UNDER invoice)
SOA Loyalty Credit: $750
SOA Teacher Credit: $500

SOA Loyalty Certificates are Alive and Well

TLDR: I scored a $750 Loyalty Certificate towards purchasing a 2026 Subaru Outback. This would be my third Subaru and second Outback. Read on below to see why and how!

I wanted to give my experience trying to purchase a 2026 Subaru Outback. I scored a good/great deal from my local dealer this past week. +$4200 off of MSRP of a 2026 Outback Premium trim w/ +$800 over Carvana trade valuation. Dealership includes a lifetime powertrain warranty, first oil change, and annual PA state inspection.

I shopped the deal around and found that this was pretty much as good as it gets locally. I wanted to take the deal but heard elsewhere on Reddit that there was a chance that getting loyalty certificate. This being my third Subaru purchase I was hoping getting the certificate would be easy, but others more recently commented that they were having trouble getting the loyalty certificate.

Here’s the process I went through. On Monday I called the Subaru of America customer service (1-800-782-2783) and requested “goodwill loyalty assistance” in trading in my 2019 Subaru Outback for a 2026 Subaru Outback. They opened a case for me. 48hrs later, today, I received a call from the Customer Advocacy Department confirming that I wanted to get a 2026 Outback and then offering me a $750 certificate. Certificate is taking an additional 48hrs to arrive but the system seems to have worked for me. I’ve placed a deposit on the Outback I want and will close as soon as I get the certificate.

Supporting My Wife in Chemo

My wife was recently diagnosed with stage 2a +++ breast cancer. Port was placed earlier this week and she’ll be starting chemo on Wednesday. The chemo protocol is six rounds of TCHP (Taxotere, Carboplatin, Herceptin, and Perjeta) spaced three weeks apart. So far I’ve been able to join my wife in her medical visits and I intend to stick by her side in room during chemo treatments as well.

As a supportive partner, what should I be bringing with us to chemotherapy treatments? I have zero expectations so any guidance as to what will happen at these visits will also be helpful.

Thanks in advance!
