[United States] Help with understanding my right. Can I record?

So for context, I am not a 107 pilot. I am a recreational flyer flying a sub 250 g drone. I am reasonably close to a major airport so I do get LANC permission to fly before I fly and I make sure it’s at the proper times as well as altitude. This happened in Texas.

I simply just like flying drones and taking footage of the sky, the dam and my house. I did a circle around my house at 350 feet, and I proceeded to record a body of water off to the distance. As it turns out, I think one of my neighbors wore out and saw the drone and they ended up calling the police on it, and the police officer came over and said I was not allowed to record people in their backyard or even have a recording of them even if they weren’t the subject of any recording because they have a expectation of privacy and then I can only record people on their front lawns. As far as I know, the only laws really pertaining to this is the peeping Tom law and the law about stalking or explicitly recording someone with intention none of those things were true. I get that that is illegal to be a peeping tom. However none of those apply, i was just flying for fun.

I think they were also mad that I had floated over their house while I was doing the waypoints.

Overall, I just wanna make sure that I’m completely in the clear while I’m flying my drone because well it’s a hobby that I have and I quite do like it. Any help from you guys who are more seasoned and especially you 107 pilots would be greatly appreciated.

(Some sections voice typed so please let me know of any weird words or typos)

$450 Headphones should not make this sound

There’s absolutely no excuse for this at this price point. This is completely unacceptable for a new product.
