How to use a buoy, and whether I should change mine

I have the Nabaji OWS 500, which is a decathlon brand.

https://www.decathlon.es/es/p/boya-natacion-aguas-abiertas-ows500-naranja-compartimento-interior-red/347798/c274m8808731

I've never used a buoy before. But this thing looks huge to me, with a net compartment on top and a whistle. Probably not designed for a race.

I have a 2km OW race tomorrow.

Should I rush out and buy another one? Would it make any material difference? Or nah, it's more or less the same?

Also, how long should the leash be?

Thanks

Surely I'm not alone in thinking Gladiator 2 was... what's a word worse than 'awful'?

I *LOVED* the first Gladiator. It was the first movie I watched on the newest, largest cinema screen and was in awe of it. It was a remarkable experience, from start to finish.

So when I finally decided to watch Gladiator 2, I went in it with some hope, based on the first movie and also based on the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. They seemed pretty decent.

But after 15 minutes, I started wondering, it can't be this awful throughout the entire movie, can it? Maybe just the beginning is bad but then it builds up to something better.

Nope. Mediocre acting, unconvincing character building, a million plot holes (and I'm not one to complain about plot holes, generally)... the list just goes on. I nearly turned it off when Paul Mescal's character charges Denzel's character on the horse and somehow they both fall down together.

The *ONLY* positive thing i could think of was just the general storyline, which was kinda cool: Lucilla/Maximus' son lives, comes back to Rome as a gladiator first seeking revenge but then fighting for Marcus Aurelius' dream of a better Rome. But even the transition from seeking revenge to seeking the greater good, that happened in an instant. It was so eff*ng dumb. I'm getting more pissed as I type this.

Am I wrong? Is there anyone here that actually liked the film? If so, why/how/check your head, lol.

Weightlifting and swimming: feel muscle fatigue when swimming

I workout 3 days a week, pretty heavy. I'm talking almost to failure, 3 sets of 6-10 reps or 8-12 reps. And recently I've added quite a bit of muscle, going from 73kg to 79kg in 5 months while dropping my bodyfat by 1-2%.

Now I'm training for a 2km (1.2 miles) open water race, and I've noticed that I'm really struggling. I used to compete at high school, short-distances (50m butterfly, 100m freestyle), but that was a long time ago. Now, nearly or technically middle-aged, I'm finding I can't even do 500m freestyle without having to rest for 10 seconds every 50-100 meters.

In addition to that, I find I quickly get sore/feel fatigued. If I did push exercises (like bench press) the day of or before, I feel it in my triceps and shoulders when I'm swimming. If I worked out my back, then I feel it in my back (I think in my lats).

Anyone experienced anything similar? Just trying to figure out how to lift heavy 3 times a week without it affecting my swim training.

Thanks.

Thinking of buying a NIO car instead of a Volvo XC60, but...

I have some concerns.

For one, NIO is still not available in Spain. Not a big deal in terms of purchasing it, as I think I can buy and export it from Germany. A bit of hassle, but not too much. The main issue though is servicing. As NIO doesn't have a presence here, and I have to take the car in for service, then what? I'm certainly not driving to Germany.

The other issue is the width of the car. I want to upgrade to a Volvo XC60 because my current car is a bit too small now, both in terms of width and length. Need something bigger. But I'm looking at all the NIO options and, unless I'm mistaken, they're all narrower than the XC60 (which is a mid-size SUV). Even the ET9 is 10cm narrower than the XC60, which doesn't sound like a lot, but every milimeter helps!

What do you guys think? Am I looking at this the wrong way?

▲ 2 r/Strava

I have a Garmin watch that I use for pool swimming, but often times it makes a mistake with how many laps i've done, usually adding two more for every 1 km. So once the activity is stopped., before I can edit it, it's already automatically uploaded/synced to strava.

Afrer I edit the activity on Garmin's Connect app to reduce the number of laps, how can I update the activity on Strava? Is there a way to re-sync it without having to figure out how to manually download the data from Garmin Connect and then upload it to Strava?

Thanks

Pixel 9.

When someone calls my number, they don't hear any ringing over the line. Just silence, until I pick up the phone. On my end, the phone rings, and when I answer it I have no problems talking over the line.

But what ends up happening often is that after a few seconds of silence, the callers hang up thinking there's no connection.

Have had this problem for a month or so now. Not sure what triggered it.

Any ideas?
