Will Live Feeds Improve This Year?

They removed the Flashback/Archive feature in Season 26 and the live chat in Season 27. After the major success of last season, do you guys think they'll finally start improving the live feeds by bringing back some of those features, or will they continue slowly killing the live feed experience instead?

DoorDash vs. Uber Eats Default Tips

I multiapp on DoorDash and Uber Eats, and yesterday I got three $10+ tips on Uber Eats. It made me realize I’ve literally never received a tip higher than 10 bucks on DoorDash.

I got curious so I compared the exact same order on both apps. Same resteraunt, same items, same delivery address.

DoorDash’s default tip was $6, while Uber Eats’ default tip was $17.25. That’s roughly 6.5% of the order total on DoorDash, which is still lower than Uber Eats’ lowest default tip option of 10%.

Why is DoorDash screwing over its dashers? They’re acting like they’re the ones eating the cost. If a customer wants to tip less, they can always manually lower it. But most people aren’t going to go out of their way to tip more than what the app recommends. What the hell is wrong with DoorDash?

Restaurants Falsely Marking Orders as Ready

I exclusively dash late nights from 11 PM to 3 AM after work, and the majority of my orders are from McDonald’s.

I got 3 late orders tonight, and for all 3 I was already parked at the McDonald’s when I accepted the order. Even after IMMEDIATELY entering the drive thru, there are 5 to 6 cars in front of me, and these workers keep marking the order as “ready” right before the pickup time. When they do that, I don’t get the late pickup excluded.

And when I finally get to the window, the order is still not f*cking ready and I have to wait several more minutes. I’ve tried reporting the drive thru as busy, contacting support, and nothing works, I’m always marked as late. I’ve already used my 10 exclusions, so I don’t know what the hell I’m going to do tomorrow. I can’t lose platinum, it’s mandatory in my oversaturated market.

I know you can unassign after 10 minutes without affecting your completion rate, but McDonald’s is like 90% of the orders I get at this time. Does anyone know a fix for this?

My week so far in Los Angeles California!

Spent about a tank of gas driving from hotspot to hotspot, which cost me $75 to fill up here in California with $6 gas. I’m up about $8 in profit this week so far!

How the f*ck do people actually make money doing this? This isn’t even a decent side hustle. I’m driving during peak dinner hours in one of the biggest cities in the world, and I haven’t made enough money to buy a large Big Mac meal.

I’m still green, if that matters. Do Gold, Platinum, or Diamond status make any difference, even in markets where they don’t explicitly say higher tiers get priority?

Make sure to BLOCK lying customers.

If you ever get a rating excluded, make sure to contact support, find out who the customer was, and have them BLOCKED.

Support told me I got a 1 star from a no tip Taco Bell order at 3 AM. The food was already ice cold when I picked it up, the entire delivery took me maybe 6 minutes, and I left it exactly where they requested. The prick still had the audacity to hit me with a 1 star for absolutely no reason after not tipping at 3 AM.

Block these garbage SCUMBAG customers so they can’t mess with your account again in the future. If every driver in their area that they falsely accuse blocks them, they’ll have to wait even longer for their orders.

Anyway to remove this?

I woke up this morning to a 4 star rating. Did the customer misclick… who even leaves a 4 star rating? 😂 Is there any way to get it removed? It’s honestly kind of annoying lol.

Anyway to remove bad ratings?

I got a thumbs down from a customer who reported their order as missing. It was a no tip McDonald’s order at 3 AM, a “meet outside” delivery with PIN required. I waited outside for over 10 minutes trying to contact them, and then contacted support. Support instructed me to “dispose” of the order and assured me they would DOCUMENT the situation so nothing would happen to my account.

The next day, I woke up to a report and a thumbs down anyway.

Is there any way to have this removed? It’s killing my rating, and I can’t even qualify for Gold because of it. I only have 16 thumbs up in 170 deliveries, at this rate it’s going to take 1,000+ deliveries just to fix this shit. PLEASE HELP!!

New Uber Eats Pro in LA?

Does anyone know if or when the new Uber Eats Pro system is coming to LA? Will it be a positive change?

Cali dashers, are extra tips USELESS?

A customer added an extra $3.50 tip after delivery last night. When I checked my earnings, I noticed it was listed under “Other Pay” instead of tips.

This wouldnt be a problem in most markets, but in California we have Prop 22. Things like peak pay and promos are basically useless because they just reduce your inevitable Prop 22 adjustment at the end of the week. When I clicked the info button for “Other Pay”, it never mentions tips. I checked previous weeks and every post delivery tip I received was also categorized as “Other Pay”.

I asked support whether it will count toward Prop 22 earnings, which would basically make these extra tips worthless, but they gave me a non answer. Does anyone know for sure? If it does this is absolute BS.

Platinum pays off!

I grinded over a month for Platinum status. This week so far: 7 hours dash time, 4 orders offered, accepted all four. About $1.50 average tip per order. Do I need 100/100 Dasher rating to unlock the real Platinum status? Does DoorDash only reward their top slaves?

I wasted 2 months chasing platinum for nothing.

Started DoorDashing in Los Angeles 2 months ago. Even with “gold priority,” I was barely getting orders no matter what zones, hotspots, or times I tried. I averaged 1 to 2 trash offers every 5 hours of dash time.

I was about to give up until I saw people on this sub saying platinum is worth it in oversaturated markets like mine. So I wasted almost 2 months grinding to get it, since I tanked my AR at the start.

Finally reached platinum two days ago, and it’s absolutely useless. I still barely get orders, and when I do, they’re still low tip garbage. I’m getting “platinum priority” for $1.00 tip McDonald’s orders after sitting around for an hour.

Don’t waste your time chasing platinum. It’s not worth it, not even in oversaturated markets.

I accepted a no tip McDonald’s order in Los Angeles where the market is so oversaturated I basically have to maintain platinum status to work. I got to the customer’s apartment and it said leave at door but the instructions said “call me and I’ll come out”. The building was locked and he left no apartment number so I had no choice but to wait outside. I called no answer, texted no answer, called again no answer. After about five minutes of standing outside on a sketchy street for a no tip order at 3:30 AM, I contacted support. The agent also tried calling the customer with no answer and told me to leave it in a secure place and said they would mark it as delivered on their end, and that they would take note of what happened and nothing would happen to my account. I wake up today and my quality rate dropped three points, and I lost my platinum status. I got one offer today in four hours as a result. I called support and they said they can see the documentation from the previous agent but still cannot fix the quality rate. I rely on this job and this honestly has me in tears. Does anyone please know if there is any way to get this reversed. What was I actually supposed to do in that situation when there’s no timer because it’s marked leave at door but really isn’t? I followed what the "VIP" support agent said and still got screwed 😔

Having Platinum in my market requires 85+ Dasher Rating points. I was wondering if having more points actually benefits you in any way once you already qualify for Platinum. For example, would a Platinum driver with 96 points get more frequent or better offers than a Platinum driver with 85 points? Or is it treated the exact same once both drivers are Platinum?

I recently moved to LA, and I’m currently Gold status. I’m barely getting any orders at all. I’ve tried going to different zones, different hotspots, and different times of day. Same thing everywhere. Today I got 2 offers in 3 hours: a $3 McDonald’s order and a $6 Taco Bell order. $9 in 3 hours. Is this normal out here? I get that the market is oversaturated, but damn. I just wanted to make maybe a few hundred extra bucks a week, not treat this like a full time job. How important is having Platinum in Los Angeles? Is the difference between Gold and Platinum night and day?
