Work chats in a sauna

Just finished up in the sauna after a workout. Usually, that’s my 20 minutes to completely unwind before I start work.

Because it’s a Better gym in London, you get a really diverse mix of people, which is great.Every now and then there is light conversation. Always casual or a laugh.

Today, though, these two guys came in and spent a full 15 minutes basically having an internal work meeting in this tiny sauna that also had 6 other people.

I can’t even begin to tell you how mind-numbing it is sitting there listening to people talk about their hiring cycles and their recruitment progress for a new head of finance.

I wanted to call it out while they were inside, but I didn't want to publicly embarrass anyone in front of others.

Instead, I caught them outside afterward and suggested they could keep the work talk out of the sauna, out of respect for everyone else trying to relax. He looked genuinely taken aback.

What’s everyone's take on sauna etiquette? Should the sauna be a strictly work-free zone, or is it fair game?

LF Tech Co-Founder to finish off our headless CMS for the creator economy.

We're looking for a technical co-founder to join the team, replacing our current CTO.

He's been poached by a startup offering him a ridiculous salary — he wants to buy a house, so I get it. He's staying around for calls when needed, but we need someone to properly take the reins on the tech.

The product is roughly 80% built — you'd be taking over an already largely-made system, not starting from scratch. The gap between where we are and launch is three things:

  1. Finishing the single-creator theme (white-label) — this is already underway; the foundational work (CSS pipeline, design tokens, cleanup) is done, and the theme build itself is in progress. Needs finishing off.
  2. Automated DNS for creator subdomains — the core domain infrastructure is built and live (creation, SSL, admin management). What's left is the last mile — automated preview domains for new creators — which hasn't been started yet.
  3. Balance & payout system — this is the part with the most left to do. A couple of underlying pieces exist (payout intake, notifications), but the backend foundation, creator-facing UI, and admin/ops tooling for payouts are all still to be built.

A good chunk of this is already in progress — you'd be finishing things off rather than starting cold.

We're building a creator commerce platform for the adult industry, made up of three products that all sit on one underlying system:

  1. Multi-creator white-labels — functional and live, but early, and working through the cold-start problem
  2. AI creator-generation tool — releasing next week
  3. Headless CMS — the multi-creator white-label above is built on top of this

We've architected it so that individual creator sites will eventually feed content into the multi-creator network — so as creators post, the network itself gets more valuable. It's a long-term network effect play.

Me and my other co-founder have been in the adult space for 4 years. We've got relationships with site owners and brands who'll be promoting our products directly to their models. We've also got a waitlist of ~10,000 models who've registered interest in our single-creator site product, and our partners will be pushing it out to their creator networks too.

Barriers to entry in adult are high — payments, regulatory compliance, age assurance, etc — and we've built an out-of-the-box compliant solution. It's not a clone, not a script. Everything runs on our own infrastructure going forward.

Looking for someone with real technical chops — proper system architecture experience, comfortable using AI orchestration for coding rather than vibe coding. There are a few repos to maintain (platform, white-label, API) so you need to genuinely understand how it all fits together, not just bolt things on.

It's an equity-only role for now, salary tied to earnings — we want to get the wheels turning properly before we try to raise (there's a stigma around adult that makes fundraising harder).

We also have some v. strong propsects in podcasting and music who want to use the same system, but see adult as the quickest and most sustainable cash. We're already revenue generating but only enough to cover current burn.

If you're interested, please message me directly with a bit about yourself — previous work, relevant experience, and any questions you've got. If it looks like a good fit, we'll set up a call and go from there.

I built an Android Fitness/Nutrition app & need beta testers 🙏

A few months ago I went through a breakup and decided to put all that energy into myself and finally get into good shape.

I'd always struggled to stick with a gym routine. I found it boring, and although I knew how to use the machines I'd turn up with no real direction and never stick at it long enough to see anything change.

So I built something to fix that for myself, an app where I could see my improvements over time and get pushed to do more, instead of relying on scraps of paper, phone notes or memory. It grew into tracking my food and my overall goals too, and it's the reason I've stayed consistent this year.

I posted here a while back looking for testers and a load of you were kind enough to sign up — thank you, genuinely.

The test got declined. Most people installed it, but didn't actually test it. So the whole thing fell failed their litmus test.

What the app dopes:

  • Training plans. Every muscle group is ranked by how much you've actually trained it recently, and how long it's been. Whatever you've been avoiding gets flagged, and today's suggested session is built around it.
  • Suggested weights. Each lift comes up with a target based on last time . Usually a little more - so you don't need to remember last times numbers. Warm-ups, a rest timer and your best ever single lift for each exercise are all in there.
  • Meal ideas. Tap to see what's in it, how many it serves, and the full method. They're matched to how you eat, so if you're on a diet, vegetarian, vegan, or avoiding something, you only get relevant suggestions.
  • Fast food logging. Scan a barcode and the calories and protein fill themselves in. Save the meals you eat over and over as favourites and it's one tap after that.
  • Gym passes. Scan or photograph your access QR or card. So that you don't need to switch to another app.
  • Weekly reviews, and progress charts for weight, body fat, muscle and strength, so you can see your progress in real time.
  • Connect to smart devices, Pull through steps, sleep and heart rate pulled from your watch or ring; Garmin, Fitbit, Samsung and anything else that goes through Health Connect.

What I'm asking for

I need people who'll install it and open it for 2-3 mins daily over the next two weeks. I don't need you to love it — I need it to be a real test. If you're only going to install it and forget about it, please skip this one, as it won't help :)

If you do give it a go I'd love to hear what's rubbish about it. I read everything and things get fixed fast.

Happy to reciprocate. Drop your app below and I'll test yours too.

Adult/OF industry

Hey!

I work in the content and media space. The majority of our contacts and demand is in the adult space and are interested to see if there's anyone in London working in this area too?

Always keen to meet people in our industry - especially in London as it's largely US focussed.

Also looking for a new tech lead, if anyone has any recommendations 🌶️🚀

Building a fitness app to get in shape. It worked - now I'm looking for a few testers 🙏

A few months ago I went through a breakup and decided to put all that energy into myself and finally get into good shape.

I'd always struggled to stick with a gym routine. I find it incredibly boring and while I knew how to use a lot of the machines, I turned up with no real direction or guidance and I would never stick with it enough to see progress.

So I decided to build something to help myself. Where I could see my improvements over time and get pushed to do more instead of having to rely on scraps of paper, phone notes or memory.

From that it grew into tracking my nutrition & overall goals too. It's kept me consistent and pushed me to do more.

When I mentioned it to a few mates struggling with the same thing, they wanted it too. So I decided to transform it from my own personal app into something that others can use, in case it helps anyone else. 🙂

It's called Adonae — it tracks workouts, calories and protein, shows your real trends over weeks (weight, waist, strength), and pulls steps, sleep and heart rate from your watch or smart device via Health Connect (Garmin, Fitbit, Samsung etc)

It adapts over time based on your goals and activities so it constantly keeps you in check.

I've just got into the closed test route and need some testers. Unfortunately it's Android only at the moment - as I don't have an iPhone and Apple charge $99/yr for a developer account.

Looking for Technical Co-Founder

We're looking for a technical co-founder to join the team for our headless CMS targeting the creator industry.

The product and stack is largely built to a point where we can launch. Our current CTO has to take a full-time role in order to buy a house and will move to fractional/advisory.

The architecture, systems are ready - we need someone who can build ontop of the amazing work that he has done so far.

Speed is essential and looking for someone driven and hungry to take ownership of the tech. Must be comfortable working in high-risk industries. Our target market is NSFW creators.

I come from a media & platforms background and deal with strategy, product + partners. We have a healthy pipeline. Other co-founder comes from a banking background and covers ops, payments, compliance etc.

We're all UK based - looking for someone in the UK, EU or US only.

Not interested in agencies - save your energy.

We're looking for someone who understands large, complex systems before. 10+ years experience. Equity available + salary once revenue generating.

I'm sure there will be questions - I'll do my best to answer publcily, some may need to be done in DMs.

EDIT: I've received a lot of messages - thank you for your interest. I'll get back to everyone asap!

Tol Barad

I had forgot about the zone and wPvP event completely until I took the wrong portal yesterday.

Did anyone enjoy it? It feels like a lifetime ago, so I can't decipher if it was good or if it's just nostalgia.
