New X1 Air - old Intel CPU?

New X1 Air - old Intel CPU?

I just saw this on onexplayer's website - is this a "new" product or an old one coming back in stock?

I've always been REALLY interested in the X1 design as I want a good travel gaming device, but I need something with a laptop-ish form factor. I don't mind the smaller size of something like this as long as it works well.

I notice this has a 2nd generation Intel ultra processer rather than a more modern panther lake one which seems like baffling choice. It's only $200 less than the SuperV which has a panther lake chip. With this having a smaller battery, you'd think it would need panther lake's efficiency to be of much use.

Fake tonal email scam?

EDIT: Just adding to the top that it's Tonal customer support telling me this is a scam. I personally thought it was legit hence why I did the survey.

I recently received this email. I've gotten lots of tonal surveys over the years, but a few months ago I got one ( like the above) that asked for an AI interview. I didn't do it at the time, but when I got this one a few weeks ago, I decided to do it.

It was a pretty standard AI interview. It asked a lot of questions about what I find valuable about tonal and especially lots of questions about the type of accessories I'm interested in. It went over prototype details for an adjustable bench and a pilates bench they were considering and asked questions about different designs, prices, etc. It all seemed very legit and it was all 100% focused on tonal, not any of my own personal information was discussed.

Afterwards it told me I was done, but there was no info about the $15 reward. Not a huge deal, but I mostly wanted to make sure tonal got my responses. I emailed them asking and after several days they wrote back to me saying this was a scam email and Tonal sends no such thing.

I sent them the above screenshot and they once again confirmed, this is a scam, not tonal.

I'm.... dumbfounded. What is this purpose of this scam?? Has anyone else received this?

How is long(er) term support for these devices?

I'm interested in the Super V and comparing it against a few other Panther Lake laptops and it seems like the specs line up really well for the price compared to the competition.

I've seen on some youtube video comments though people calling out that OneXplayer longterm device support sucks and they stop supporting devices as soon as a new one comes out.

I guess my question is...how much of that is true? And, how much does onexplayer actually need to update given most of the software is windows / intel bios+drivers anyway? I guess just bios updates and onex custom software updates?

Also: I'll add in a second question just in case anyone happens to know - but how thick are the Super V/X tablets if you include the keyboard with them? Obviously OneXplayer brags about the device only being 13mm (which is nice) but realistically will always travel with the keyboard and can't find any specs mentioning how thick the combined package is.

I have 2 frame TVs (non-pro). One from like 2020 and one from 2022. The one-connect cable and box are just incredible for making these TVs look so aesthetic. I have a wood-grain wall and the one-connect cable fits perfectly in the grooves of the wood and makes it look like a fully custom mounted/powered TV. My other frame is able to hide the cable along the edge of the wall in a way that it's also practically invisible. I have bragged about these TVs to EVERYONE and talked many friends/ family members into getting one.

Then the Pro came out and I thought it was neat but kind of pointless. You lose tiny almost-invisible one-connect cable and gain a thick power cable....? It essentially requires you to pay to get a custom outlet installed (which would be literally impossible on my wood wall for example). I'm sure some people will like it, but it's not ideal for me.

Now the 2026 frame loses the one-connect box entirely and just has connectors on the side?!? I have no idea what their strategy is with this, it feels like the product is going backwards in innovation. Now if I ever want to replace my existing frames I'll have to buy a 2025 model and just hope for the best?
