How do you all handle taxes when your income comes from like 4 different places?

ok so this has been bugging me for months and I don't know if it's just me. I freelance + do a couple retainer things + some random platform payouts and every time money hits my account I genuinely could not tell you which client it's from or if there were fees taken out already. tried a spreadsheet, gave up after like 2 weeks bc I kept forgetting to update it, tried QuickBooks and it's built for people with actual employees so it felt insane to use for just me. tax time is a nightmare bc I never know what to set aside. anyone actually solved this or are we all just winging it

I built an AI finance autopilot for freelancers because I’m tired of being my own (unpaid) accountant

I’ve been freelancing for a while, and like many of you, I realized I was spending way too much time in spreadsheets and not enough time doing the work I actually get paid for.

The stats are pretty scary—apparently, 82% of small businesses fail simply because of poor cash flow management. I didn't want to be a statistic, but I also didn't want to spend my weekends doing "admin."

So, I built Notwen - https://notwen.app

It’s an AI finance autopilot designed specifically for solopreneurs and creators. Instead of just tracking what happened in the past, it tries to be proactive about your future.

What it actually does:

  • AI Invoicing: It drafts line items directly from your project descriptions and handles the "friendly nudges" for overdue payments automatically.
  • Real-time Tax Reserves: It calculates exactly how much you should set aside for taxes based on every payout, so tax season isn't a jump scare.
  • Client Intelligence: It tracks who pays on time and who’s "at-risk." It even calculates your effective hourly rate per client so you know which relationships are actually worth your time.
  • Cash Flow Forecasting: A rolling forecast to help you see exactly how much runway you have at any given moment.

The Ask:

I’m looking for my first 50-100 pilot users to really break the system and tell me what’s missing.

If you’re a freelancer, consultant, or creator, I’d love for you to give it a spin. It’s free to get started, but for the first 100 people who provide feedback, I’m giving away a "Founding Member" lifetime 50% discount if you ever decide to move to a paid plan.

Check it out here: https://notwen.app

I'll be hanging out in the comments & would love to hear your thoughts, critiques, or even just your worst "client didn't pay me" stories!

Me along with one of my developer friend are building an AI product. We have realised that having just engineering minds in the team is not going to cut and we want to solve real world problems.

We are looking for a co-founder with product background, who will understand AI products and user experience.

Solopreneurs with multiple income streams, how are you actually tracking your money? (not looking for tool recs)

I’m a freelance developer who also does some consulting, and recently started getting affiliate payments from a few tools I recommend. Not a huge income, but it’s coming from like 5 different places now and I genuinely have no idea what I’m making at any given point in the month.

My current system is embarrassing, I have a Google Sheet I update maybe once a month when I remember, and a folder of PayPal/Stripe emails I forward to myself and never open.

I really don’t want to try QuickBooks for this.

Not looking for what tools you use. More curious about the actual problem, what’s the thing that genuinely stresses you out or wastes your time when it comes to finances? Is it the tracking itself? Not knowing if you’ve set aside enough for taxes? Not knowing which income source is actually worth your time? Something else?

Especially curious from people who have irregular income, like some months are Stripe-heavy, some months are a big wire transfer from a single client, some months are just a bunch of $47 deposits from ABC client.

What’s the moment in your month where you think “I hate this part”?
