CoD newbie

Just got a bunch of CoD games. Would love any tips! I am pretty new to FPS but I want to get into it. It seems really big and intimidating, the games are huge!

The Governant, Rilee Bern.

Thought I would give this book a hoon since it's in the Kobo store, Kobo plus, and the author is in this sub.

I am 36 pages in and I am starstruck. This is the best indie writing I've seen since Alchemised/Manacled.

It's not just a book. Rilee has built an entire world in these pages. The descriptions set such a vivid scene that I can really immerse myself in the story.

The characters so far are well described, feel like they fit within the story, and their actions are described rather than told.

I am only 36 pages in, but I'm locked in for the long haul.

{The Governant by Rilee Bern}.

So far, it's set in a very relevant and realistic dystopian version of Earth, and who I believe is the MMC lives in the lower tiers which have the worst pollution/support/economy. He is a very well rounded character, with depth and personality.

What are your biggest irks? Mine is corsets in armour.....

Why do all of the beautiful FMCs and side characters wear corsets when fighting?!?

As a person with proper tactical ops, riot and hostage negotiation training.... I can openly say that if you have something restricting your movement... you are going to die if shit kicks off.

Stab proof vests are never cute, you are going to look like Quasimodo has a thing for wearing blue. The false hunchback is real.

Bulletproof vests are even worse. And you stink after working up a sweat. Because you can't really wash a bulletproof vest thoroughly. They are densely woven kevlar designed to stop bullets. Laundry powder will not permeate that shit. Somehow sweat does.

Heels I can forgive. But not stilettos. Never stilettos.

I cannot imagine anything worse than dealing with a prison fight while wearing a corset that pushes my tiddies closer to god.

Also, if they are aiming for historically accurate, corsets were a minority. Whalebone was frikken expensive. Stays were FAR more common, and likely allowed for minimal movement over the corsets complete lack of movement (and breathing).

I have a friend for my special budgie!!

My budgie Emil is teeny tiny. He was a rescue, and was denied food from an adult budgie (in a tiny cage) as a youngster. He's smaller than a 3 month old regular budgie. I've had trouble finding him a friend, because normal size budgies will likely bully him because he's different.

He is the smartest, cutest wee guy, he says so many sentences and is very opinionated.

I reached out in a local bird rescue group asking if anyone had a special needs budgie I could add to the flock, and a rescuer responded saying she had one who has a wonky leg! He hatched with splayed legs, but she was able to mostly correct it, he just has one razzle dazzle foot sticking out now.

I know about flat perches, soft cage bottom, shallow dishes and to look for sores on the feet, but surely there is something else I can do to support him.

He's been quarantined at the rescue as he was a special needs budgie, but he will have a separate cage and slowly be introduced to Emil over a few months.

Please stop asking the internet and see a veterinarian

posting here when your bird is in obvious distress is not the way to go. PLEASE find a local avian veterinarian, give your birds twice yearly checkups (smaller birds can get sick much faster), and take your bird to see them when they are unwell.

New owner of a Dongfeng Box. I love it. I save so much money on my commute. However, my commute is 50% town 50% highway, so I use more than the estimated kms.

How can I alter my driving to better this? I already take off slowly and use regenerative braking, are there any other things I could be doing?
