Fair price?

Fair price?

I am picking this up today and I was curious to see what the community's thoughts were. What do you all think is a fair price for this yellow beaut. I couldn't find the color/base combo on the interwebs, but tbh I didn't look that hard. Thanks, peace.

Dimmmers all sorted out

I got my dimmer situation all situated. I use the ChamSys virtual lighting controller on my laptop and connect it to the old Dove systems dimmers via a USB to DMX dongle. The two dimmer packs are 4 channels each for a total of 8 lamps. That makes it so I can control the voltage to each lamp individually. I am working out the levels at which each lamp operates at it's best. This is what happens when you say dimmer to an old lighting guy. Hit me up with questions I love to talk about it. Just ask my wife. 😃

Air bubble trapped in my wax.

Good morning, friends. I am not sure if this is a thing or not, but it looks like I have a large air bubble trapped in my wax. The wax also seems to stay in the top and bottom till it breaks into spheres. After that it globs all back together. I am not opposed to the look, but I would like it to flow like the others in my collection. TIA. Peace.

My collection so far.

I have had the big red 32oz for about 40 years. The blue one was given to me by my daughter. And the rest have been FBMP recent additions. Added bonus, my color organ (that's a whole other long story) I'm new here so go easy on me. I will have maaany questions. Thanks. Peace.

Son of Quadzilla

This is my mini quad desk system with all gear you could have bought from Radio Shack. It sounds pretty darn good with the communal sub in the room. (not RS) I have two quad systems in the same room, one large, Quadzilla, which is a Pioneer, and this. They both share the same sub through a small mixer. The two red knobs on the desk are master volume knobs for each system. The rear speakers up top make it so when I lean back and sip my coffee my head lands right in the "zone" it's fun.

FBMP for the win, (again)

Picked up this really clean Realistic Lab-340 direct drive for a cool 25 bucks. I swapped out the cart with one I had laying around and It spins perfectly. The auto return works and I could not be happier.

How bad is it?

I'm going to pick this up today. The seller says it's "immaculate" The video shows it works... Is it worth the $40?

SOS speaker placement.

I posted a State Of the System yesterday (thanks for the responses!) And some of you fine audiophiles questioned my speaaker placement and understandably my sanity. Here is the set up. It's a Pioneer QL-600 Quadralizer amp. Pioneer CS-R700's front and CBS Broadcasting Reference 206L's. rear. The speakers under the 700's are just stands for now. It puts the horns at ear level when I'm in the captains chair. The plants name is Bob.

State of my system.

I just wanted to share a pic of my set up as it is right now. It's taken a couple of years and I am very happy with how it sounds/looks. I am gonna be moving in September so this configuration will be changing with the new digs. Thanks for letting me indulge myself. Peace.

Color organ in action.

Duh... I should have posted this first. This is what it looks like in action. The way it receives signal is a wire pair that you connect directly to your speaker wires. (no microphone) I found this out when I plugged it in at the estate sale and it didn't come on. No signal = no blinky lights. The wire had alligator clips so I tried it out when i got home. When the lights started up I peed a little then, TBH I welled up a bit... it was kinda dusty.

Color organ follow up.

So I got up the nerve to open it up and try to figure out who made this durn thing. I have come to the conclusion that it was definitely made by Elves. Or the outside chance it is a kit made by the original owner. I am leaning towards Elves. Either way it is damn old, it's surprisingly clean, it works flawlessly, and I absolutely fucking love it.
