Blind cat's deserve love too 🏑

This cat was rescued by a local rescuer friend in a bad condition. She has been discharged from the hospital today after battling an infection.

White cats with blue eyes usually can have genetic defects. She is blind. Blind cats don't need any special care - in my personal experience. They just need you to never shift their litterbox and try not to shift furniture around the house, because they create mental maps and never loose their way.

They are like any normal cats, love playing and cuddling. This cat has a sweet and gentle nature.

She is recently rescued and has been dewormed and spayed. Please reach out to me in DM's for her rescuer's contact number if you are interested.

HNK Fanart. I ❀️ texture brushes!!

I've been wanting to draw since a while but I couldn't get past drawing the head. I hate the way the chins come out and I can't get a pretty eye shape.

But I guess waiting was worth it in the end, cause the final piece is so pretty 😭❀️ This is my new favorite drawing I made.

Redraw of my 2023 Artwork!!

Fun Fact!! I drew the 2023 drawing on my display-less tablet with a PC and Krita.

But in the 2026 version, I drew in my phone, with my finger and Ibis Paint X!!! It's just so much less pressure on my wrist and elbows to draw on my mobile ❀️

Mishti is waiting for a home 🏑

Around 2 months ago, Mishti was fallen in a puddle of water after being hit by a vehicle. She wasn't able to walk and had a severe respiratory infection. She only had a minor muscle injury on her legs and luckily learned to walk again.

She suffered a worm load and malnourishment, she almost developed pneumonia. Despite all the illness - Mishti's true personality slowly came out after a lot of rest and recovery.

Mishti loves people and cats. She purs all day long, she loves jumping and hopping. She is every vet's favorite patient. She loves cuddling, hugs, kisses and holding our hands with her two paws and kissing our fingers.

Mishti is a ANGEL, she's our QUEEN who deserves only the BEST!! She also loves cats and is an overall friendly and joyful personality. Other cats are also unbothered by her presence.

Mishti would be someone's perfect first cat or companion cat!

She is a 5 month old, vaccinated (first tri-cat) female kitten. She is litter-trained and we are located in Thane City.

We are looking for adoption in and around Thane. Please reach out if you are ready for a cat!

BEHOLD: My disgusting treat soup invention to get my fussy cat to drink water!!

I know it looks disgusting, but while licking all the trails that lead into the water, she also has to drink the water too. Sometimes I also smear all the trails of treat around the edges of the water like a cream, that also works in ensuring the bowl is licked clean in the end!!

It's easy to trick a chatora billy!

Never Give Up: Nova got Adopted πŸ₯°β€οΈ

This is Nova, a few months ago we captured him for TNR. He was wandering in a society, having suddenly appeared there.

A local cat lover fed him some food and she was blasted by society authorities for comitting a very big crime. People threatened to relocate him - for his safety, we went and picked him up.

Ultimately we were planning for a shelter, however the vet told us he was pretty young, around 6 months old.

After some days of food, rest and clean surroundings, Nova turned out to be a super cute boy hidden under all that fear, dirt and starvation.

With that cheerful, unique face, we decided his chances at adoption would be good. We posted on WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. Nova was very popular but mostly everyone who turned up was not fit to have him.

Finally, we ran Instagram ads and again most people who turned up weren't great. But one person living close by, was adamant, kind and the perfect match to Nova's personality.

It's been 3 weeks now and we can finally say, Nova has been happily adopted ✨️❀️

"Why are his eyes always dilated in pics?" Cause I'm holding something he loves: TRASH

My Oggy is a paper paglu. Bus tickets, bills, random paper - everything belongs to him at the end of the day. Ocassionally, toys are also claimed but he hides the toys somewhere, and we have not found his hiding spot yet.

People ask why his eyes are super dilated in each pic. I want to clarify that the only thing he is high on, is excitement and the hunting instinct.

I rescued an orc kitty and named her Spicy!

This is my girl, I named her Spicy but she was only spicy on rescue day. It was very hard to trap her. We trapped her for a routine TNR but she ended up hiding big secrets 😭😭

She's still with me, the vets did dental extractions but kept the toof.

Still suffering bladder parasite. Need funds!!

Here are some context posts about community rescue, Spicy.

Previous rescue:

https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianPets/s/FTqNfupt3i

Now:

https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianCats/s/YNF6EHqFPj

Spicy has eaten an earthworm which was infected with a bladder parasite. The parasite has infected Spicy and is forcing her to keep drinking water and her kidneys are not keepinh the water, causing excessive urination and dehydration. It's a rarely seen condition, commonly in Foxes and Dogs. Our vet is going to write a paper on Spicy's case and publish it for veterinary education.

She had been suffering high WBC since 5-6 months with no answer on what is wrong. Pyometra, Gingivitis, FIP. Everything got ruled out. Suddenly, she developed early kidney disease and weight loss due to constant dehydrated. Despite constantly drinking water from every water source available.

We know what is going on now - by chance a urine sample test revealed the condition.

We did 10 days of daily deworming with Fenbendazole. And two Ivermectin injections, as planned by our vet, Dr. Kiran Shelar, CentralVets Thane. But repeat tests revealed that the damn worm is still alive in her bladder, dancing away, laying eggs, destroying Spicy's life. So we did 4 more days of a higher dose of Fenbendazole.

Spicy's rescuer feeds a community of 25+ cats at Majiwada. There are many other cats in need of her financial support. She has spent more than 20k on 3 urine tests, multiple sonographies to check the bladder, urine culture, SDMA, regular blood tests every 5 days to check kidney condition, WBC count, along with food and medications.

Tomorrow Dr. Shelar has called us to give Spicy a totally new tablet to try and kill this thing. We have to repeat the tablet after 3 weeks.

We are in for more expensive tests - needed to check the progress. The vet has advised not to let Spicy go outside. Because she is vulnerable to secondary infections, her body is not strong. Additionally, these parasites are contagious - the eggs are coming out in her urine and if any cat decides to lick her urine or this urine enters water sources, it can spread to others.

The vet has never seen such a case. No vet in his circles has seen such a case. He cannot tell us when she will get better. We are blindly going ahead. We took a paid opinion from Tata Small Animal Hospital who advised us not to give more Ivermectin for a cat, they couldn't believe that 14 days of Fenbendazole didn't kill it yet. They also are not aware of such a case and couldn't help us much other than suggesting urine culture and urine test AGAIN to check if the parasite is alive. The test reports arrived today, the parasite is STILL ALIVE and laying eggs in the bladder.

Please help us with whatever funds possible. We appreciate any small amounts too. Bills are attached and more will be provided for everything.

Awaiting Mod Approval.

Momo has recovered. Thank you for the support πŸ™πŸ»

Hi guys, Momo had a severe case of tummy upset. Vets weren't able to figure out what exactly was wrong with her cause none of her blood reports stated that anything was wrong. So they just did basic saline therapy based on her symptoms.

Momo lost 800 grams and she's become very thin now, but she is eating gastro food and now her poop is almost solid, she has not puked for many days. We have isolated her in fear of any viral spread, vets said it's not viral but every symptom looked viral, hence we're not taking risks.

Momo's sister, Mimi was missing her as she is recovering in isolation but Mimi has many other kitty friends at home and became close to our tortie foster, Masti.

Thank you for the timely help to everyone who donated towards Momo. We are grateful for support from the community in managing vet bills πŸ™πŸ»

Shrivalli passed away πŸ’”

This is my most unfortunate, last update for Shrivalli. Many had helped to fund his treatment.

I gave up Shrivalli to my neighbors after keeping him with me for 2 months and completing his treatment for CKD.

His creatinine was stable at 3 but he was suffering anemia. One of his kidneys was finished, while the other only worked at 40% capacity. We were giving him medications, CK Reno, IHP Syrup, SaMePet Forte and some protein powder, along with renal food.

My neighbors have fed and cared for Shrivalli for the past 5 years. I only stepped in when he needed medical help. So post treatment, I sent him back to his area, as I couldn't keep him personally.

Unfortunately, Shrivalli was an indoor outdoor cat. He kelp crying at doors or escaping through their window (They live on 3rd floor but there was a tall wall with a shed, easy for him to escape). They let him enjoy his life outside as he didn't have much longer to live, around 2 years only, he came home daily.

Last week, Shrivalli was roaming outside during heavy rains and then this week, he began puking. Yesterday, my neighbors reached out to me saying he had collapsed.

As I am fostering 4 sick cats, I hadn't gone home, I stayed at my foster house looking after my cats, hadn't seen Shrivalli for a while.

Took him to the vet yesterday and his haemoglobin was at 2. Dr said he is critically ill but can't have blood transfusion as a kidney patient.

This morning, we got reports where his liver values, which are supposed to be at 80 maximum were at 4000. It was a bacterial infection he got, possibly during rains.

Dr asked us to admit him but I gave the family a choice. Euthanize or let him pass naturally at home. If he was still alive in the evening, I would pick him up and euthanize as prolonging his suffering had no meaning. He was too far gone, there was no saving possible, not even through medical magic.

Just as I reached up the stairs, he passed away in his owner's arms. I'm heartbroken I couldn't help him enough and couldn't adopt him myself. I would try my best to break that habit of going outdoors πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”

After everything I did to improve his life, in the end, he died in such a way πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”

I'm so sorry

Thank you to everyone who has ever contributed to his care. Shrivalli died, but I will never regret helping him and being a part of his life even if it wasn't meant to be πŸ’”πŸ™πŸ»

Tl;Dr: Shrivalli was an indoor-outdoor CKD stage 3 patient, he died due to a sudden liver infection and severe anemia.

The reason for My cat developing Mental Illness and CKD: She ate an earthworm!!!

So, a few months ago too, I made a few posts about Spicy.

Spicy was rescued for a routine TNR. She lives in a community of 15-20 cats. A nearby mhada was demolished and Spicy possibly wandered from there. She was new to the community and refused any touch and was very aggressive. It was hard to trap her, but she needed to be rescued after being chased by a male cat and having bloody discharge from her anus.

I gave her the name SPICY when she was handed over to me for fostering. Spicy visited 3-4 vets who all couldn't determine why her WBC count was fluctuating and remained high. Our usual vet refused to operate on her as she tested positive for FIV on a snap test.

Another vet told us FIV snap tests are unreliable and we should do a PCR, but we decided to take a chance and carry out tooth extractions and spaying together.

Spicy recovered well and returned to her colony. We always mentioned to the vets that her water drinking habits where very unusual. She keeps crying for water and will keep drinking multiple bowls of water and keep urinating everything out. We needed 3-4 bags of litter a week, daily, the litterbox would be ruined.

Vets didn't find it unusual - they said, it's a great thing that she is hydrating because cats don't drink water very easily.

Everytime I visited her at her colony, Spicy was filled up like a balloon. Her feeders mentioned that she keeps drinking water from all available water sources until she is round like a ball.

A few days ago. We had to bring Spicy home again. She was bitten by a male cat in two places on her back and developed absess and at risk of pyothorax. We are almost done dealing with the absess now. She recovering - but this time our vet, Dr. Kiran Shelar decided not to ignore her litterbox and drinking behaviour. Additionally, despite drinking so much water, Spicy was DEHYDRATED!!

Dr. Kiran suggested multiple tests. SDMA, LFT, KFT, Electrolytes, Urine Test and more. With rare diagnosis like PSYCHOGENIC POLYDIPSIA and DIABETES INSIPIDUS.

When her urine test results came, Dr. was shocked and excited. He has never seen such a case.

Spicy has eaten an earthworm. Which has placed a bladder parasite in her body called Capillaria Plica.

The parasite is completing full life cycles inside. It has laid many eggs which came up on the urine test. And there were two live worms inside, we saw on the sonography.

The parasite has affected her brain, as it needs water to survive, it is forcing Spicy to keep drinking water. But her kidneys are not keeping this water. She has started signs of CKD due to the parasites effect on her body. The polydipsia and diabetes insipidus are side effects of the main problem in her body!!

Luckily Spicy can be TREATED!! Ten days of deworming and two controlled doses of Ivermectin and she will be fine. We might even be able to reverse the Kidney damage!!

Dr. Kiran Shelar was so excited to see such a case, he will be writing a paper on it and publishing it for the medical community to know of such a thing.

So guys, aisa bhi ho sakta hai!! Sounds far fetched but it's true!!!

TL;DR - Spicy ate an earthworm which has caused a parasite infestation in her bladder and is making her crazy for water and destroying her kidney.

Momo is turning critical. We Need Funds πŸ™πŸ»

This is Momo, I've fostered her since she was 2 months old. Momo and her sister Mimi were rescued from a hospital as staff had to remove them from the premises and their their mother abandoned them. No adopters came ahead and they remained with us....

She is now 5 months old and she is suffering a stomach ulcer + heat period. Which has made her sensitive and heightened her pain.

She has on and off had tummy issues since she was rescued. Now it had become major, she is popping blood and has stopped eating food. Vets are saying her stomanch and intestines are inflammed and she needs daily saline.

Her expenses have crossed Rs. 8,000 and her rescuers are in need of financial support.

We have other cases like Mishti (Car accident survivor with facial deformity needing sonography) and Spicy (Suffering Bladder Parasite needs blood tests and CKD treatment), who are also in need of financial support.

But Momo's case has turned severe as she has stopped eating and is pooping blood, her care and expensese are more urgent right now.

Please help us. All bills till now are attached and more will be added. We are in Thane, Maharashtra - Attending Vet: PETVETS, MANPADA and new vet we are switching to HRK VET, MULUND.

How does ONE person to always rescue cats with RARE diseases???? 😭😭

This is Spicy, she had to be rescued again after being released 2 months ago - Spicy was bitten by a male cat in two places on her back and it turned into an absess in both places. With a risk of Pyothorax (Pus leaking into chest cavity). We managed to control the pus and the absess drained.

But one unique detail we have always mentioned to the 4 vets we've consulted for Spicy is that she drinks alot of water - like bowl after bowl, 200-300ml per day. And cries for more water. And she pees ALOT. Like daily, the litterbox is DESTROYED!! I've attached a picture, everyday, we have to dig and dig to clean up.

The previous vets all decided, that it wasn't such an important detail (Bhai, we are buying litter every 3 days??? Not concerning??)

This time, our vet decided not to ignore these concerns. Dr. Kiran Shelar, an amazing vet, with very accurate diagnosis ability, has given us a new disease to digest.

Psychogenic polydipsia, a rare, mental illness in cats, which makes them want to keep drinking water, but their kidney doesn't make use of the water, so it keeps flushing the water out. Basically, psychological diabetes??????

We had to do multiple tests and she made a huge bill 😭 We're waiting for test results, this is a crazy thing. Spicy's rescuer is an independent cat feeder to a community of 20 cats. The same woman also rescued CHARLIE who was suffering a rare type of parasite (Trypanosoma) and she also rescued CARAMEL, with a rare type of coronavirus (Ocular FIP).

How's it possible that fate keeps handing her these rare type disease cats 😭😭 Paisa kaha sey ayega yar
