sad to glad

Me inside Popmart to my husband:

“I really want Velvet Noon, but i’m okay with anyone except one… I probably shouldn’t say because i’ll get it, but i really don’t want that one” *Points at Born Rebel*

*opens box of Born Rebel* 🥲

BUT I gave her a makeover and I don’t hate it, so I guess i’m okay

Which locality/age?

Hello! I’m just a lurker (for now),

I’m considering adopting a leachie some time in the future and want to hear experienced owner’s advice and opinions.

What is my best change of obtaining a handleable leachie?

Do I need to get them young? Go for a female? Look for an already handleable one?

Are some localities better than others?

So far i’ve heard following: Females tend to be more handleable and the smaller localities too should be more handleable.

What are your experience and opinions on this?
I know they have personalities and nothing is 100 exact, but just in general 🥰

Punk Panda styled

My husband bought me it for me as a day after morning present! Just styled her a bit and she’s actually so adorable! I removed the diaper lol

New mortal enemy appeared

Our apartment get HOT on summer days and I didn’t like the worry of my geckos temperatures, so I bought a mobile aircon. I should have known this would be a problem with Momo as she has a vendetta against the vacuum cleaner…

BUT I could never have predicted how insanely terrorfied she would be 😭😭😭 She was spasming and running wild (i’ve *never* seen her like that) and it was heartbreaking. We turned it off, but she just sat there for like 2 hours staring at it (not even sleeping). Now I removed it completely from her point of view, but she’s still sitting there (fired down though and perhaps drifting into sleep soon).

Hopefully moving it further away will solve this problem… My leopard gecko didn’t even come out to check anything, but just slept away in her humid hide during all this.

Have anyone else had a gecko this sensitive to vibrations/sounds/electronics??

Hunger strike and weightloss

Short version:
When should I worry about weightloss during breeding season hunger strike?

Regular version:
I know i said no panic in my last post, but my head is stuck in an overthinking spiral and my anxiety is hitting the roof.

Kimi is still keeping her hunger strike alive and has lost some weight, and I know it’s okay as long as it’s not too much weight lost in a rapid speed. But what *is* *too* *much* ?

She’s been refusing food for approximately 2 weeks and lost ~4 grams.

17/4: 59 g (was trying to make her loose a few grams at this point)
4/5: 56 g
10/5: 54 g

So when should i begin to worry? how long do they usually hunger strike?

Kimi has been crazy active and demanding outsies every other minute. Waking up early and going around her enclosure before the lights turn off. Even I have thought it to be excessive lol. But hey maybe i stressed her more than usual by changing her setup? She LOVES food and suddenly she’s not interested in any. She’s pretty much on a hunger strike now. I’ve been frustrated about this and then it hit me… Breeding season is upon us. This is our first one together and she seems to be very effected 😅

So just a reminder that breeding season is here with all its hunger strikes, digging obsessions and glass surfing. Keep it cool, don’t panic and stay updated on their weight! We will get through this 🥲😂
