I actually think Busted Vs McFly wasn’t a great move for the band.

I know it was a bit of fun, (money) but this is why.

Busted wanted to move forward with new music and a new album. Busted practically reinvented themselves over the past few years, the new sound, download festival, big collabs with simple plan ect, there was so much talk on the new direction for the band, Jordan fish on the new album, it all got a little bit sidetracked with this tour.
We already just had the greatest hits/reunion tour, so going out for a second year in a row, pretending it was something different, wasn’t really it.
The marketing behind it felt really forced, Matt actually said he regretted the idea because they had to act like enemies, when they were all amazing mates, so talking shit about eachother felt weird.
It wasn’t really battle of the bands, there was no real mix up of songs. It was a McFly gig then a busted gig. It just didn’t feel like two teams or a really battle, it was just two bands on the same night.
I totally get, busted and McFly came up together, they wrote together, they have always been compared, but I genuinely think they are such different bands, especially now they have grown. I get its nostalgia, totally get it, but again, I thought busted were going for new this time.
James, it was late notice ect, but it wasn’t complete, it couldn’t be helped and it’s

no one’s

fault, but it just wasn’t a pure busted show.
They could have done something even bigger.
Imagine for 5 nights only, McBusted. All 7, all the songs, all on the same stage. Made a documentary or something. Idk.

Anyways, that was in my mind, would be interesting if anyone thinks the same.
