KINAKABAHAN AKO SA RESULTS

so guys, I initially wanted to no-show for the August MTLE because I wasn’t able to finish the Mother Notes or the final coaching, and honestly, I’m not really sure if I even got more than 50% right. Still, I showed up because everyone kept telling me the usual things like “no one is ever ready” “do it scared”, etc.

but the more I hear my peers ratio the questions, the more I realize how many mistakes I made, and it’s making me panic even more. 😭 I keep thinking about all the questions I could’ve gotten wrong and sobrang kinakabahan ako.

I know there’s nothing I can do about it now except wait, but I genuinely don’t know what I’ll do if I don’t pass.😭😭

My (23F) boyfriend (23M) comforted me after I got rejected from our dream med school and it made me feel even worse.

TL;DR: My (23F) boyfriend (23M) of 18 months got into our dream med school while I was rejected. While I was grieving, he tried to comfort me by saying, "At least I can earn earlier than you so I can provide for you." I know he probably meant well, but it made me feel like shit hahaha.

My (23F) boyfriend (23M) and I have been together for 18 months, and we've always shared the same dream of getting into the same med school. We studied together, motivated each other throughout the application process, and imagined going through medical school side by side.
When the results came out, he got accepted, and I didn't.
I'm incredibly proud of him, and I don't resent his success. At the same time, I've been heartbroken over not getting into the school I've worked so hard for. It feels like I'm grieving both the opportunity and the future I had imagined.

When I was crying and trying to process everything, he tried to comfort me by saying, "At least I can earn earlier than you so I can provide for you."

I know he most likely meant it as reassurance, and I don't think he intended to hurt me. But instead of feeling comforted, I felt like my own dreams and career had been reduced to how I should feel okay because he will take care of me???

What I needed in that moment wasn't reassurance that I'd be provided for—I wanted someone to acknowledge how devastating the rejection was, remind me that this setback doesn't define my future, and tell me they still believed I'd become a doctor one day.

I haven't told him how much his comment bothered me because I know his intentions were probably good, and I'm trying to separate what he meant from how it affected me.

Am I expecting too much from my boyfriend when I'm struggling with depression?

I've been feeling really conflicted about this and I don't know if I'm being unreasonable.

I've been dealing with depression, and while I know my boyfriend is genuinely busy with work/school/life, I can't help feeling unsupported. I don't expect him to fix my mental health, but I do expect him to be there for me in the ways that matter.

There are times when I'm having a really hard day and I call him because I need to hear his voice or just not feel so alone, but he doesn't answer. Sometimes he calls back much later, sometimes not at all. I understand people can't always pick up, but when it happens over and over, it makes me feel like I'm not a priority.

Another thing is that we barely go on dates anymore. I know he's busy, but I don't feel like he makes an effort to spend quality time together. Even something simple would mean a lot to me.

I keep wondering if I'm asking for too much because of my depression. I know it can make me need more reassurance than the average person, and I don't want to depend on him for my happiness. At the same time, isn't your partner supposed to be someone you can lean on emotionally? I don't need him to solve my problems—I just want to feel like he wants to be there.

I've tried telling him that I need more communication and quality time, but I still feel lonely in this relationship….

What if hindi ako pumasa sa boards?? What if hanggang dito na lang?

im so tired of it all…

I just feel so lost in life. I have family, friends, and people who love me, yet I can't shake this overwhelming feeling of loneliness. It's confusing because I know I'm not truly alone, but somehow I still feel isolated, like no one really understands what's going on inside my head.

Watching everyone around me move forward with their lives makes it even harder. It feels like they're growing, achieving things, finding their place, while I'm stuck in the exact same spot—trapped in my own thoughts, constantly overthinking, and feeling like I'm falling further behind. Every day that passes makes me question what's wrong with me and why I can't seem to move forward the way everyone else does.

I know everyone has their own struggles. I know my problems might not seem as significant compared to what others are going through, and I often tell myself that I shouldn't feel this way because other people have it worse. But knowing that doesn't make the weight I'm carrying any lighter. My pain still feels real, and I'm exhausted from fighting it every single day.

I'm so tired of waking up feeling empty, of pretending I'm okay, of constantly battling my own mind. Sometimes I don't know what to do anymore. I keep wondering if there's a way out of this pain that doesn't involve giving up completely, because right now, I can't seem to see one. I just want the constant heaviness to stop. I don't want to keep feeling so lost, so stuck, and so hopeless.

why is it so hard to commit?

I thought killing myself would be just as easy as jumping or gulping a bunch of pills and I can just never wake up. But there’s a ton of logistics behind attempting that I never knew about until I started seriously planning lol.

23F struggling with resentment after my 23M boyfriend got into medical school while I didn't. How do I know if this is grief or a deeper relationship issue?

TL;DR: I love my boyfriend and he loves me, but ever since I didn't get into medical school, I've been feeling constantly angry and overwhelmed. It's making me question whether I'm pushing him away because I'm grieving, or if this experience has exposed years of feeling emotionally unsupported during the times I needed him most. With him starting a new chapter while I'm mourning the one I lost, I can't tell if this is temporary grief or long-standing resentment. Has anyone been through something similar, and how did you know if your relationship was worth repairing or if it revealed deeper incompatibility?

I (23F) have been with my boyfriend (23M) for a year and six months. We're your typical friends-to-lovers story. He's genuinely a good person. He has flaws, of course, but overall he's patient, kind, hardworking, and has never intentionally tried to hurt me. That's honestly what makes this so much harder.

Next month, he'll be starting medical school.

I won't.

I didn't get in this year, and while everyone around me seems to be moving forward with their lives, I feel like mine has completely frozen. It feels like everyone pressed "play," and I'm the only one still stuck on pause.

I hate admitting this because it makes me feel like such a terrible girlfriend, but sometimes I catch myself feeling resentful. Not because I don't want him to succeed—I do. I know how hard he worked for this, and he deserves every bit of it. But at the same time, I'm grieving the future I thought I was going to have, and I'm watching the person I love live out the exact dream that slipped through my fingers.

The thing is, these feelings didn't start with medical school.
We have a lot of unresolved issues that I've been carrying for a long time.

During my internship, which was probably one of the hardest periods of my life, he wasn't really emotionally present for me. Every time I tried to open up about how exhausted or overwhelmed I was, the conversation somehow became a comparison of who had it worse. I know he was tired too, and I genuinely tried to understand that, but instead of feeling comforted, I felt dismissed. Eventually, I stopped sharing my struggles altogether because I already knew how the conversation would end.
Even the little things started to hurt.

We mutually agreed not to celebrate every monthsary with dates because we were both busy, and I was okay with that. The only thing I asked was for him to remember and greet me on Messenger. It wasn't about the date itself—it was about feeling remembered. Yet he would forget repeatedly. One time, he didn't even know which monthsary it was, and when I brought it up because I was hurt, he got angry at me instead.

It made me feel like I was asking for too much when all I really wanted was something so small.
The biggest turning point, though, was when medical school results came out.

I didn't get in.

He did.

I wasn't expecting him to fix my heartbreak, but I did hope he'd be there for me. Instead, we ended up having one of the biggest fights we've ever had because he felt like my sadness was preventing him from celebrating his success. He said he couldn't fully enjoy this milestone because I was so upset.

The painful part is that this isn't the first time something like this has happened. For almost the past year, whenever I've gone through something difficult, I somehow end up feeling guilty for struggling because my problems affect him. It often feels like the conversation shifts from what I'm going through to how my emotions are impacting him.
I know he tries to understand me. But how can someone fully understand a grief they've never had to live through?

Now we fight more than we ever used to.

Not because I don't love him.

Not because he doesn't love me.

But because I feel angry all the time.

I'm angry at myself.

I'm angry at my circumstances.

I'm angry at the version of my life that never happened.
And unfortunately, the person closest to me gets caught in the crossfire. Sometimes I wonder if what I'm feeling is really about medical school, or if this experience has simply brought years of unresolved hurt to the surface.
Throughout college, he was always there.

But somehow...he also wasn't.

He was present in my life, but I rarely felt emotionally held during the moments I needed him most. Now he's about to start one of the biggest chapters of his life while I'm trying to figure out how to move forward after mine didn't go the way I hoped.

I don't know if what I'm feeling is temporary grief that will fade with time or years of unresolved resentment finally catching up to me. I don't know if I'm unintentionally pushing away someone I genuinely love because I'm hurting, or if I'm finally recognizing emotional needs that haven't been met for a long time.

For people who have been in similar situations—or who have experienced major life transitions while their partner was grieving—how did you figure out whether the relationship could be repaired? What conversations or changes helped you determine whether the issue was temporary grief, or a sign of deeper incompatibility?

I've spent years trying to survive, and now that I should feel proud, everyone only sees what I didn't achieve.

Hi. I'm a fresh premed graduate, and to be honest, graduation didn't feel like the ending I had imagined for years.

People always say that walking across that stage is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life. I thought I'd finally feel relieved—that maybe everything I had gone through would finally be worth it.Instead, the very first questions people asked me were: "Laude ka ba?"

No one asked me how I was. No one asked if I was proud of myself for making it through. The only thing that seemed to matter was whether I graduated with honors. I didn't.

And suddenly, it felt like four years of fighting to stay afloat meant nothing. What people don't see is that my mental health was falling apart throughout college. Every semester felt like survival rather than learning. There were days when simply getting out of bed felt like an accomplishment. I wasn't thriving—I was just trying to make it to the next day. Because of my hectic schedule and depression, I slowly stopped showing up. Friends would invite me out, but I was always too exhausted, too overwhelmed, or too emotionally drained to go. At first, I kept saying, "Maybe next time."

Eventually, they stopped asking. I don't blame them. People move on. But when graduation came, I realized what I had lost. While everyone was taking pictures with their friend groups—laughing, hugging, celebrating—I found myself standing alone. I watched people surrounded by the friendships they had built over four years, while I had no one from my university to celebrate with.

I smiled for pictures anyway.
I don't think I've ever felt lonelier.
Then came medical school applications.
The university I “dreamed” of attending rejected me. Ironically, the university where I finished my bachelor's degree was never even my dream—it was my parents'. I had convinced myself that maybe getting into my institution’s medical school would finally be the thing that proved I was enough.

It didn't happen.

And with that rejection came another wave of disappointment—not just from myself, but from my parents too. Now people keep asking me where I'll be going for medical school. I tell them, "I'm not sure yet." They probably think I'm choosing between multiple offers. The truth is much harder to admit. I'm not choosing. I simply don't have the opportunities they think I do.

Now I'm expected to prepare for the board exams, but instead of feeling encouraged, I constantly hear questions that make me doubt myself.

"Nag-aaral ka ba talaga?"
"Sigurado ka bang papasa ka?"
"Kapag bumagsak ka, nakakahiya. Baka huwag na lang muna."

Every question feels less like concern and more like another reminder that people are already expecting me to fail.

Eventually, you start believing them.

I have a boyfriend, and he's genuinely a good person. He's patient, kind, and has done nothing wrong. That's what makes me feel even guiltier.
He's entering medical school next month while I'm still here, feeling like my life is frozen.

I hate admitting this because it makes me feel like a terrible partner, but sometimes I catch myself feeling resentful. Not because I don't want him to succeed—I do—but because I'm watching the person I love move forward while I feel completely left behind.

He tries to understand, but how could he fully understand something he isn't living?

We fight more often now, mostly because I'm angry all the time.
Not at him.
At myself.
At my circumstances.
At the version of my life that never happened.
Sometimes I wonder if I should let him go before medical school starts.

He deserves someone who can celebrate his victories wholeheartedly, someone who has enough emotional energy left to support him. Right now, I barely have enough of myself to survive each day.

There are so many more things that have happened that I can't even put into words. I just keep coming back to the same question: When does surviving become enough?

Because no matter how hard I tried, it never seemed to be enough for the people around me.
No honors.
No dream medical school.
No close friends.
No clear future.

Just me, wondering how I became someone who feels so left behind at only twenty-something years old.

If you've ever felt this way too...
How did you start believing in yourself again?
