Are these safe to drive?
I bought these tires new in October 2024, so they're less than 2 years old and have maybe 15k miles on them. I noticed the chunking a little over two months ago. I took the car (2018 Subaru outback) back to the tire place, and they suggested it may be an alignment issue. I went to get an alignment the following week, and the mechanic there said it was definitely the alignment, but it seems like they may have gotten worse since then. I do live on a dirt road, which is frequently graded, and there were unavoidable potholes all over the road for months while they were doing culvert work.
Could the road condition be the issue? Would they have checked the suspension while doing the alignment?
Most importantly, do these need to be replaced ASAP?
Two months ago, they said they were still safe to drive.
Do they look safe now?
