If I stop paying for splice, do I keep my downloaded premium presets.

Based on what i've seen, u keep the samples, but do U keep the actual instrument presets?

Thoughts on Magdalena Bay leaning more into rock?

I was looking at some earlier threads, and saw people fearing that they'd lean into more rock sounds bc of their prog history and the release of Imaginal Disk. Since then there's been the Nice Day singles which explored a lot of sounds, including more rock sounds. I personally love these and would consider them to be some of my favorite songs from them. Do you think they will lean more into rock going forward and if so is that a good or bad thing in yalls opinions?

Do I need to be a "whore" for automatic doors?

I'm a huge fan of their music. I'm in love with Imaginal Disk, and Star Eyes is one of my favorite songs ever. But I feel like a dirty larper because I'm aroace and can't feel any attraction towards anything. So I can't be a, "whore" for automatic doors. Am I allowed to like their music still?

Will a therapist tell my parents about suicidal thoughts?

I don't have a therapist yet, but I'm on a waitlist. I have been having suicidal thoughts for around 2 years. I've never opened up to my parents about it because my brother has severe mental health stuff and I don't want to burden them with my own. So I was thinking about, (when I get one) talking to my therapist about my suicidal thoughts. Will that be told to them? Thanks for anyone that has any info I really don't know how this stuff works lol.

Is it normal to go through a bit of a drought?

I'm still pretty new to music production. I technically started back in October, but didn't really start learning how to do anything until the start of this year. The past few weeks I feel like I haven't had much motivation to do much so I haven't been producing very much and much of what I make sounds worse. Idk I just need advice to see if this is normal or if I'm just not good enough.

Does anyone actually value sub genres?

This is some what a rant and my brain kinda just spiraled and here are my thoughts. Sub genres mean nothing now. There's obvious examples like "indie" or "alt" music which just has very little meaning. Everyone has different understandings of what these terms mean and when that happens these "descriptive words" don't help to describe anything to anyone when people understand them differently. I spoke to some different people about what they felt these terms mean and they all gave different answers. There's also different rock sub genres like, Art Rock, Prog Rock, Jazz Rock, Post Rock, and alt rock which all mean slightly different things but all seem to blend into one and other. Especially when these terms started off as describing things which were more experimental and created to break the mold of the genre. There's this image I see in tiktok comment sections sometimes and it says something along the lines of, "my favorite post rock albums." and whenever I see it, there's people arguing about whether or not they fit into this sub genre. They all view this terms differently, so why do people still use them. And even pop music. Major music publishers were calling the underscores record, U, hyper pop. These labels mean nothing bro.

I'm pretty new to making music and I really struggle to flesh out the instrumental of a track. I'll write a melody then can't really turn it into a full song. Any advice?
