Sharing in Case it's Helpful -Morning Journal

I tend to be a "by the book" person. If I have clear instructions that I can refer to, I can follow them. That's been incredibly helpful in AA. The Big Book is literally an instruction manual on how to live a happy joyous and free life. It teaches me the positive solution to my problems so that I no longer rely on alcohol as the destructive solution. I love step 11. The Big Book tells us exactly how to pray and meditate both morning and night. The nightly inventory helps us very specifically examine ourselves and our actions at the end of each day. It even tells us what to do during the day. The steps are a clear and consise action plan for recovery and for how to stay recovered.

This program of action has literally saved and changed my life. I finally understand the term greatful alcoholic. For years before I ever used drinking as my solution, I carried so many resentments and so much self-pity. I was angry that others didn't see how much hurt they caused (which I never let them forget of course.) If I hadn't used alcohol as my solution, then discovered this program, I believe I would have always carried those resentments. I never would have this freedom.

Enshitified Trashcans

Yes my friends, even trash cans have been enshitified. Plastic trashcans have gone from thick and sturdy to thin and flexible at $30 a pop if you are lucky. For "cheap" metal, it's $50 at minimum and will be quickly dented if you so much as sneeze on it. Anything sturdy is $75 and up, for a place to throw garbage.

It hurts my heart to think about spending $75 on a trash can just to have something durable.

Questioning My Doctor

I've been on 150 mg a night of Trazadone for a while. I went down from 300. It doesn't help my sleep at all anymore. My doc wants me to taper 50 mg every 5 days. He told me to start 15mg of Restoril when I hit 50 mg. of Traz. I'm concerned. I have very well tolerated prn . 5 of Xanax a night on occasion with the Trazadone. But it's short acting. Restoril is longer acting. That also seems like a fast Traz. taper. I'm also not sure about Restoril with Traz. Any insights?

In the 1990's Border's Bookstore Cafe, and some Indie coffee shops had a frozen drink called Cafe Sorbetto. It was made in a large slushy type machine. I believe it was non-dairy but was creamy. It had a mild coffee flavor. Everything I'm finding is coffee sorbet or seems like something that would taste much stronger.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about and know of a drink that would be similar that I could make at home? It's quite a bit different than a Starbucks Frappuccino. It's creamier and lighter.
