I have an iphone 8 plus that was in a shattered black housing, and I swapped it to a red housing and it would get to the lock screen and then boot loop. After around 20 minutes it completely shut off and never came back on. Is there any way that I can get it to work again, or did I kill it?

Every time I hold the power button, it turns on but shuts off after a few seconds. It's on ios 9 or 10 bc it was manufactured in April 2015 and has the lines in the battery flat icon and a rectangular battery flat icon. Any ideas?
