How do you all typically organize your wine collection? Do you keep notes on your variety, vintages and vineyards? I usually organize by variety, an vineyard, but not much else.

Often I have bought a bottle and a year later I will look at it an can't remember its character or what I liked about it originally. Anyone else have this problem and what did you do about it?
