Exposing u/Unfair_Key_6995 and her problematic behaviour

A user simply pointed out that posts consisting mostly of outfits, food, lifestyle photos, desserts, and compliment-fishing content don’t really belong on a subreddit called IndianBEAUTYHauls. That’s a fair observation. A beauty haul subreddit is meant for beauty-related purchases, reviews, and discussions, not repeated lifestyle dumps several times a week.

The issue isn’t even the content alone. What I and I'm sure a few others have noticed for a long time is the pattern that whenever someone politely questions these posts or points out the off-topic nature of them, the same account repeatedly appears to defend the OP. One account in particular, u/_Heisenburger777, shows up constantly under these posts, praises the OP excessively, ofc it's her alt account and has even referred to herself as the “Queen.”

And yes the OP has displayed a consistently rude and argumentative attitude whenever criticism is directed at her. Instead of accepting feedback, she often responds defensively and escalates the situation. Checkout the thread using these links below:

https://www.reddit.com/r/indianbeautyhauls/s/MtNJcjq3zz

https://www.reddit.com/r/indianbeautyhauls/s/NFEE8sjkxV

What finally prompted me to make this post is that after I replied with evidence and pointed out this pattern, the ost was suddenly deleted within a min. If everything was genuine, there would have been no reason to disappear the moment this issue was raised.

This is about maintaining the purpose of the subreddit and addressing behaviour that many members have found disruptive for quite some time.

I’ve attached the links and pictures above so everyone can review the interactions themselves and come to their own conclusions based on the receipts.

Increasing trend of asking for giveaways

Lately I’ve been noticing a huge rise in posts asking people to “declutter” or give away makeup, perfumes, skincare, and other beauty products simply because the OP “can’t afford them,” and honestly… when did this become so normalised?

I completely understand genuine acts of kindness, and if someone wants to give away unused products, that’s their choice. But the increasing expectation that strangers should hand over luxury/non-essential items just because someone asks for them feels very strange to me.

Makeup, fragrances, skincare etc. are not necessities. They are optional lifestyle/luxury purchases. Wanting them is completely fine, most of us do, but constantly seeking freebies for things that are not essential feels less like community support and more like entitlement or sympathy-seeking at times.

What makes it even more confusing is when you see the same people presenting completely different situations elsewhere. Someone may claim they are financially struggling enough to ask strangers online for beauty products, while elsewhere talking about being able to comfortably take on responsibilities like pet ownership, which obviously requires long-term financial commitment. It just makes the whole thing feel inconsistent.

And honestly, I’ve also noticed people making these posts and then DMing multiple commenters privately asking for even more products after already receiving offers publicly. At that point it starts feeling excessive.

Again, nobody is judging someone for not being able to afford luxury products, that’s normal. Most people prioritise essentials first. But I genuinely don’t understand why Reddit is slowly turning into a space where asking strangers for free makeup, perfumes, and skincare is becoming so common and socially encouraged.

Also, before anyone misunderstands this post, I’m not accusing any specific person here. But we’ve already seen situations in the past where people repeatedly DM’d users on declutter/giveaway posts claiming to be broke students, asking for freebies, and eventually issues/scams happened, including cases where even delivery charges weren’t paid.

That’s exactly why this trend feels concerning to me. When this kind of behaviour keeps getting normalised, it becomes harder for people to distinguish genuine kindness from manipulation or sympathy-seeking. And unfortunately, it can make others more hesitant to help people who may actually be genuine.
