(I say this on the precipice of a tribe swap knowing there may be some bs around the corner, but man these three episodes were GREAT)
If you watched this movie as a kid, I recommend rewatching as an adult because it’s a completely different experience, and I mean that in a good way.
It’s like this movie is made for you to watch as a kid and just enjoy the cool fantasy elements but they put deeper philosophical themes into it that hit different as an adult.
“The Nothing” as a metaphor for the childlike wonder that slowly fades over time… there’s other things it could represent too. Tons of YouTube videos about this.
Anyway, one of my favorite movies as a kid and even more now as an adult.
I feel like that is a rare feat. Usually there is some kind of lul or filler in a lot of these modern shows and this show has legitimately one-upped itself each episode.
Each episode ends and I’m like “amazing episode, best episode of the season, no way the next one is better” …and then the next one is better.
Really haven’t seen him in anything else but he pulls off this character to perfection. You really feel the hostility and unpredictability and in-turn, the comfort he provides a young Niall in his formative years. You understand the dynamic of the relationship so well through this characters performance. Tough role to pull off and it’s executed masterfully.
There’s a movie about him called “Boy Genius” where he builds a spaceship in the garage. He’s going to win now, wow guys.
