They've chosen H2H as the primary tie-breaker criteria in a single legged season which means teams that play their specific match involved in the H2H calculations away from home would be at disadvantage. For example in the scenario EB, MB loses and Punjab, Mumbai City draw with each other while Goa wins there would be a H2H table created between EB, MB, BFC, GOA, PUN, MUM where Mumbai would've played 4 out of their 5 matches against the other teams involved AWAY from home. Ik it's unlikely both EB, MB loses simultaneously on the last day and it's overall a very specific situation but you don't make rules leaving it up to luck that it won't matter, you make them with the fairest scenario in mind. Same goes for the scheduling, BFC should have played their last game alongside the other teams just like Goa as it happens in any other league where all teams in title contention play at the same time no matter how high or low their chance realistically is, this time due to their inferior GD/H2H record they don't have a realistic shot but what if they did have a good GD/H2H? You're yet again leaving it completely up to luck then that BFC wouldn't be in contention for the title prior to the season.
