Best way to stream Apple Music losslessly to stereo setup?

I’m willing to buy an appliance and/or cables for this. I do already have:

  • a Sonos Port (works inconsistently, and I don’t think it’s lossless, besides),
  • and an old M1 MacBook Pro (might work, but I worry that the DAC / USB-C port would downgrade the audio quality, and it might be overkill from a power consumption standpoint)

My amp is very simple and has no digital features such as streaming support. I know that Wiim and such don’t stream Apple Music because of Apple’s lack of support for such things. So what’s the best solution in 2026? Please don’t tell me to switch streaming services. Thanks!

LOD calculated field based on max for record across data set?

Title might not be very clear, but I'm not sure how else to explain my question. Here's what I need:

https://preview.redd.it/n8oec7lc1g9h1.png?width=260&format=png&auto=webp&s=c017abf3be59300613a748d0d42b8f87e63894a6

I need to reference what a field value is for the instances of that field that correspond to the max of a third field. In the example, I need to know what 'Name' is for each 'Code', but only those 'Names' that correspond to the max 'Year' for that 'Code'. (For each 'Code' and 'Year' combination, there is only and exactly one 'Name' ever.)

Hope that makes sense.

I have messed around for way too long with FIXED {} functions combined with MAX functions, but nothing seems to work. Is there a way to do this?

I searched this sub, but the closest I could find was this thread that isn't exactly what I need - critically, I can't have user filters, etc involved. The '"Latest" Name' field needs to be calculated in the background and referenced throughout the workbook often without user input.

Thanks in advance!

My loyalty doesn't go unnoticed, but it does go unrewarded ...

It was a Warehouse purchase, so it's fine, but I thought that their careless implementation of this text was pretty funny.

Question about the NYC "flagship" store

I popped into the NYC store for the first time yesterday. I couldn't stay very long at all, so I didn't have long to look around - was on a mission to find a new Knicks hat for the parade. But while checking out, I asked the cashier guy if they have many exclusive hats. He seemed kind of confused and was like, "Nah, not really. There's one style of hat with patches from a lot of teams (?) that I don't think they have in other stores, but that's about it. Everything else here you can get online or at other stores."

Is this true? I thought flagships were supposed to have a lot of exclusives, no ... ?

Brooklyn Man Faces Felony Charge After Taking 'Magic Mushrooms,' Getting Lost In Hudson Valley Woods: NYSP

Seems like it would've been easy to hide / ditch the shrooms before the cops picked him up, but then, he wasn't exactly thinking strategically, I suppose. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No more charge port cover / 'plug'?

I just got my second XC90 T8; the last one was a 2023, and inside the charge port door, it had a cover / 'plug' that went over the charge port and, I presumed, protected the port in case moisture or dust/dirt got past the door. I was surprised to open the charge port door on my 2026 XC90 T8 and find that they did away with the cover / plug.

I'm assuming this has been engineered so that the cover isn't necessary, and, frankly, I'm happy to have one less step in the charging process. But has anyone experienced any issues with this new design?

How can I listen to different speakers to learn what I like and want to buy?

I'm still starting out my stereo journey and have been using what I have*, but I'm not really happy with the speakers** and want to upgrade.

A friend who is an experienced audiophile who's guided me well so far strongly recommends listening to different kinds of speakers (e.g. 2-way vs 3-, horn tweeters vs dome, ported vs non-, etc) to develop my taste and better understand what I want before spending any money. This seems like great advice in the abstract, but I'm at a loss for how and where to try listening to various speakers.

I don't have friends in the area that are audiophiles whose systems I could listen to. The one stereo store that's close to me was not friendly when I went in and told them where I was; it felt like if I wasn't prepared to drop $10K+ then and there, they weren't interested in teaching me anything or developing me as a customer. There are, of course, other stores (albeit a longer driving distance), but that first experience turned me off from that route. (I'm open to recommendations for shops in the NYC area that will make me feel more welcome and maybe teach me a thing or two, even if I'm not going to buy something that day.)

Am I just doomed to have to buy stuff, try it, and return it (if I can) if I don't like it? The big problem with that (other than the hassle) is that I'm looking ideally to get something used off of Marketplace to improve the value of what I can afford, and Marketplace sellers (understandably) don't usually do returns.

Thanks for any thoughts / suggestions / hard truths you can offer!

* - I currently am using a cheap but good quality Technics turntable, Fosi pre-amp and amp, and American Acoustic D3500 speakers

** - when I say I'm not happy with them, to be more specific, my #1 complaint is that they lack lows and bass. I'm not expecting speakers this size to rattle the room, but even in my small room, I feel that they're lacking punch. I also feel like they're generally "muted" / lacking brightness in the high end, if that makes sense. They just sound kind of lackluster and cheap, to me.

Best way to figure out applicable laws for deck appliance hookups?

Moved into my house, which has a fairly large propane tank in the back yard to fuel a propane range and stove, about five years ago. When I first moved, I went to the propane company that delivers and services the home tank to ask about getting lines and receptacles run from the big tank to our deck for various appliances (grill, pizza oven, and fire table). I had a similar setup at a previous residence in another state and loved it. At the time I asked, I was told by the propane company that it was impossible because it was illegal in our area. I said, "Bummer," and promptly gave up.

However, recently, on the subreddit for my area (county), I mentioned this anecdote in a related comment thread and was told by one of my neighbors that the company "lied" and that it's 100% legal and possible. This person claims that they have that exact setup, professionally installed, at their nearby home. So, now, I'm confused. Obviously, my tendency is to expect the professionals to be correct over a random person on Reddit. But it's got me wondering, which leads me to my question:

What's the best way to find out the definitive answer on this? I'm not even sure where to look for or what keywords to search for in the law. Should I just call a bunch of other propane companies and ask them? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Live from the Fall vinyl?

I know that this was never officially released on vinyl (sadly), but do any unofficial pressings exist? If so, how do they sound? Do they ever circulate?

Would love to hear my favorite BT album and one of my favorite live albums of all time on vinyl ...
